Villa Vistarenni, Castle, Chianti Classico, Tuscany

Between the towns of Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, two key production centers in the history of Chianti Classico, there extends a large farm of approx. 500 acres, called "Fattoria di Vistarenni". The 16th century Villa Vistarenni dominates it from a hilltop 500 m above sea level. The villa, a former property of the Florentine Strozzi Family, and later of the Sonnino Family, which gave birth to some senior officers of state in early Italian governments, now belongs to the Tognana Family.

Vistarenni is an Etruscan name, and stems from "Fistarinne" - the name of a small, fortified settlement that still existed in the year 1000 in the site where the villa stands nowadays.
Underneath the villa there are historical cellars excavated in a rocky layer, vaulted with brickwork, and surmounted by large halls (for meetings, conventions and receptions): 150 px.

Guests can pleasantly walk along marked pathways, bike or mountain-bike in the surroundings, ride horseback inside or to the outside of a nearby equestrian facility, or play golf in a course just 30 km away. All apartments are entitled the use of outdoor areas and of a portable barbecue.
