The directions to the Villa Santa Maria could be more explicit by saying that a driver should go straight past the city gate for a short distance, and meet Robert (or someone) who can direct one to the parking place. We went on the main road past the gate and not into the street leading to the Centro. After two phone calls we finally hooked up with Robert as his directions were not too clear.

We were very happy with our stay though the hot water situation was very iffy. Very little of it both heat wise and pressure wise. One bedroon was very small - would have been better for children than adults. There was not a good area for just sitting and lounging or reading, but we were usually out sight seeing, so were OK. When the whole apartment is opened together (the next door unit is two bedrooms)it would be very nice. We had a great time in Montalcino - and found the accomodations veery adequate and reasonable. Robert is a great host - very friendly.

Very Italian in decor - clean, good view from side, parking, easy walking around the town. Godd headquarteres for touring Tuscany.
