It was confusing when arriving at the gate. We would have liked better help with our luggage.

Ww would like to thank the reception staff for loaning us an umbrella.
The breakfast was fine, although a change would ahave been appreciated. For guests staying 5 nights, it was too predictable. Even a change in bread would have been nice.
The bedside reading lights were awful. The room was too dark. The chair in the room was unacceptable for comfortable seating, and there are times one does not want to be in public rooms. We pulled in a chair from the hallway, but it was removed from our room. We were not expecting shooting from early in the morning. The parking was good, but the gate twice wouldn't open to allow us to exit, so we eventually just used the back road. We made very good use of the kettle and the milk in the fridge.

The location is misleading; the hotel is not in Cortona, and the road between the two is long and difficult at night. However, the location near the highway makes daily trips easy.

A 3* accommodation; somewhat comfortable bedroom with inadequate lighting and uncomfortable chair, small shower. The inroom fridge and kettle were very appreciated. The pool area was nice, the breakfast staff excellent. The restaurant was very attractive, especially for breakfast. Excellent wait staff. The 'gardens' were disappointing.

Very courteous and helpful.
The map given on the website is useful, but it would be greatly enhanced by a written, line by line, description of each approach (from Bologna, Siena, Rome and Perugia). This should particularly mention what is written on each exit sign at each junction. This would not take long, if two people went in a car with a dictaphone and pysically drove each approach and recorded exactly what was on each sign and the distance between each junction.

Could not have been more helpful. The surroundings were delightful. It was a pleasure to wake up to a beautiful view and see hoopoes and jays flying through the umbrella pines. Wine waiter was exceptionally helpful! Full of ideas on the wine and list very knowledgeable. Also very helpful on where to visit wine areas in Tuscany.
As it was early in the season, we were only one of two couples staying. The only quibble was the evening menu selection was sparse - only one option for each course. These were all excellent and changed each night. I understand that this will be improved by the beginning of May. This is important because if you are using the hotel as a touring base it is to impossible to get a good meal locally and therefore you must use your car. This greatly inhibits the vino intake!
Even in late April the outdoor pool was open and cleaned daily - we did not partake!

The directions provided are really bad. While Cortona is the nearest reaosnably large city, the appropirate landmarks are other locations. The staff was wonderfully helpful.

1. Breakfast: The outdoor breakfast room is beautiful. The breakfast could have had a bit more variety (cheese was provided only one morning; more cheeses could have been available and more often).
2. Facilities: The rooms are beautiful. The lack of laundry facilities (and the difficulty and cost of using alternatives) would be inconvenient for long stays.
3. Dinner: The restaurant is very elegant, and while the dinner itself was fine, it not nearly as good as the price and advertising suggests.

Spectacular breakfast room. Beautiful common areas, rooms and views. Directions need much clarification. Dinner was not so great.
