Small number of steps to entrance of hotel may make this unsuitable for disabled / those with prams or small children (although it did not bother us) ... Fabulous hotel very small and personal, more like staying in someones beautiful home than in a hotel.Just the right amount of luxury not at all over stated. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Superb!

We did a 'google' mapping search before setting off on holiday. I think we may have struggled to find the hotel without this. ... The hotel was wonderful and just what we were hoping for. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was excellent value and of good quality. The rooms were nicely laid out and beds turned down at night time. The hotel was quietly situated on a litlle side road but close enough to Lucca to be within a 10 minute drive. The swimming pool was a very relaxing place to spend an hour reading before heading off for a days exploration. All in all I am so pleased we booked this place.

The hotel looked beautiful and very warm welcome from the team. ... It was better than expected. The atmosphere couldn't be captured on the website and it was super. ... Excellent value for money. ... the whole feel was that of boutique hotel. The gazebo in the garden was real treat. ... Absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, delightful team, great food, excellent attention to detail and a really relaxed atmosphere. Would stay there again, definitely and would highly reccommend.

Driving instructions to find the property were confusing- difficult to follow. Road signs in green and blue toward Pisa led to wrong turns more than once. Hopefully this could be improved. ... Dining setting and food were excellent. Great views, service and food. ... Villa Marta was beautiful, restful and a good value. Rooms and public facilities were attractive and clean.

The hotel is beautiful, the stay was very comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful and they speak good english. They serve a very good breakfast. Bathroom was an absolute dream! ... the information on the restaurant could be more specific. It is irregularly open or closed. ... Definitely a must if you go to Lucca and do not want to stay downtown

The people, who run (own?) the Villa Marta went out of their way to make you feel welcome, you nearly feel to be part of their family.

Hotel is hard to find, and out of the way. Not much around to do. Walking to nearby restaurant is treacherous because there is nowhere to get off the side of the road.
Too expensive for inconvenient location. ... Too far away and remote from Lucca.
