 The Castello is a mere half hour drive from famed Siena. During the summer months the region is renowned for its many art exhibitions, theatre presentations, music concerts and village country fairs. One can stroll along walkways beside the gentle River Orcia, or bicycle over shaded country roads, or travel cross-country on horseback. Less than two kilometres from the castle (within walking distance), is the extraordinarily beautiful Abbey of Sant'Antimo, founded originally in the ninth century by Benedictine monks.
