No problem with the hotel, excellent in fact. Driving instructions were not detailed enough to be useful and we had to ask directions in Gaiole ... Very good, very enjoyable. We may go back next year. ... Restaurant is excellent for dinner. No negatives. ... Quiet, peaceful and romantic.

Offer a range of services - visits to winegrowers, massage, etc. ... Beautiful hotel, good facilities and restaurant in the heart of wonderful countryside but near to all the major sights. A great place to return to each day.

No lift ... Interesting conversion of a derelict mill into a viable small hotel.

Directions onthe site were terrible and the hotel staff was not able to provide clarity as we wandered for an extra 1 1/2 hours to find it.
The staff spoke very good English and were very kind and willing to help. The pool setting was lovely. ... It was a lovely place to stay. I think we would have benefitted from a better sense about which towns we had best proximity to. ... The room was small and the air conditioning noisy. The inn was overall very pleasant. It was pricy compared to the fabulous place we stayed in Rome that included complimentary breakfast. ... The Ceramiche Rampini up the road is on the list of 10 best places to shop in Tuscany. We ordered custom made pieces that we couldn't get anywhere else.

We´ve been at the hotel 4 years ago. And we must admitt that the breakfast was better in the past, sorry.
And the facilities (pool, stairs to the pool...) need a little more care.

The hotel didn't quite live up to the image. The rooms were nice but much smaller than expected (and we booked a superior room !) and weren't really what you would expect for £150 per night.
Website stated that restaurant was closed on Monday's only, however it was also closed on the Wednesday of our arrival. We had specifically chosen a hotel where the restaurant would be open and was disappointed to have travel by car for a meal (the hotel is several miles from the nearest village). It was open on our second & last night, however it was again disappointing as the food was very expensive and moderate in quality.
We then moved onto the Palazzo Del Capitano in San Quirico D'Orcia, also booked through Tuscany.net which was a superb hotel - for the same price as L'Ultimo Mulino we had a beautiful suite in a fabulous location and the restaurant was excellent !
... Overpriced. Go to the Palazzo Del Capitano, San Quirico D'Orcia instead !
