Excellent. ... The staff are as good as one would expect at a five-star hotel. They are thoughtful, efficient, friendly, always available and concerned about the comfort of the guests. ... Quick, easy and pleasant. ... Emphasize the spectacular view, the fine service and the peacefulness. ... A lovely villa with a spectacular view. It's located in a tiny village just like one reads about in novels. A superb hotel staff. Get to know Francesco, the waiter. He'll give you wonderful service as well as brighten your entire day. And please take time to walk around Marcialla. Visit the little bakery. Stop by the church. Try the local wines.

In french ! 'Merveilleux panorama. Piscine bien exposée accessible mais nous ne l'avons pas utilisée.' ... In french 'Piscine accessible en saison.

Parking is inside the wall of the hotel. This is very important. ... Very silent and a beautiful view around the valley. Swimming pool was very clean. The villa Tavolese is like you think in your dreams.

Villa Tavolese is situated in the quaint little town of Marcialla. The Villa is situated on a hill top overlooking surrounding vineyards and farmland being both picturesque and peaceful. The villa estate is a very private environment, the villas being clean and spacious. The staff are courteous and helpful and honour your privacy. The restaurant has excellent Italian quiseen.

A special mention for Catrina, the receptionist, she was lovely . Catrina and her husband, Franceso, who also worked at the hotel, were very friendly, approachable and helpful. ... During our first week the hotel was very quiet and restaurant was only open for breakfast and every other night for evening meals. The pool wasnt cleaned during our first week but during our second week as the hotel got busier it was cleaned daily. A little unfair I thought. The bar was very expensive too. I think its worth mentioning that we booked on a cooking course at the hotel with another couple we had been chatting to....we were expecting seperate cooking area's and ingredients to make seperate dishes etc but instead we paid 50 pounds each (200 pounds in all) and all we did was help the chef. We literally stirred the odd pan, chopped a few herbs and onions, beat a few eggs and whipped some cream!! The chef was the one who made the decision to charge us that much and he wanted another 50 pounds each if we were eating in the restaurant that evening. You can walk in to the restaurant off the street and get a 3 course meal cheaper!!! So very disappointed with that. ... Lovley hotel in a fantastic area of Italy. Catrina, (receptionist) is a credit to the hotel, very polite, very friendly and always willing to help. Avoid the hotel bar and cookery class (far too expensive) but we really enjoyed our stay.

The only negative was the weak air conditioning. Sleeping at night was not comfortable- it was hot, and the Villa turning off the power supply to the air conditioner was not the answer- our small windows did not carry in enough of a breeze to give us a restful and cool night. The only other thing that was not perfect was that the pool was filled with debri the first day we were there. It was cleaned by the second day. But having a skimmer for guests to use to help clean the pool would have been helpful.
We loved our nightly experiences at Il Poggio restaurant. Francesco and Cara were such a treat to have as servers, and the food was delicious!
Lastly, we thoroughly enjoyed being in the town of Marcialla- it's so charming and wonderful! ... I think you should include details about local wineries, and which ones give tours. That would be helpful. The woman we asked at the front desk was unhelpful in that regard as well. The staff should at least know where to point you for local wineries, etc. ... Beautiful, relaxed, good restaurant, great location, nice pool. Totally worth the money, just don't go in the middle of the summer because the air conditioning doesn't work well at night and you'll have very restless nights.

We came in from the Pisa airport. The directions were not specific enough from Certaldo. But we found the Villa, even in the dark, after asking for directions.
We found Sabrina, hostess of the Villa, to be so knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful. Her English is superb and, with patience, she taught me some Italian which I so enjoyed learning. She answered all of our questions thoroughly. She is a gem. ... We wondered where to park as we came in. ... The Villa is in a country village that is not a map but that should not deter you! It is marvelously quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the country side. We discovered the village's post office, the grocery store, an artist's shop with his paintings (we bought some), a pizza shop and a restaurant. The church bells ring out during the day--wonderful.

Forgot to check directions to the property online! ... To us, it's the location--a charming village, Marcialla, with a very comfortable hotel, perched on the hill with wonderful view of countryside.

We found it a nightmare to find the directions on the website were useless from the direction we came. ... We stayed in the suite with 4 balonies overlooking the whole area. It was the entire 3rd floor and very good. The air conditioning was not working well which made it very hot. ... Quite a few tour parties there when we stayed which meant that our evening meal was very slow. The great thing was though that the baby monitor worked from the suite to the restaurant!

nobody speek french ... the parking was not just near the hotel, so it was impossible to go alone from the parking to the hotel when you're in a wheelchair. the room was very spacious and fully accessible with the wheelchair but not always very clean (a lot of spider s'web) ... very quiet hotel (maybe a littel to quiet)

We had to wait around 10 min for somebody to make the check-in ... Unfriendly service, if any, during breakfast (including: let the guests prepare the breakfast table by themselves - a little bit cheap facing the relatively high room prices). Perfect service only from the part of Davide. Noizy water-pipes (from toilets, showers and water-taps) in the whole hotel ... no ... no ... Because we have friends in Marcialla, I would recomment to stay in Villa Tavolese but would tell them what they can and what they can not expect. And after all I like the view from the terrace and or the pool area into the Tuscany.
