Giacomo Stuart's mother greeted us on our arrival and showed us around --- she is a delightful young woman who immediately made us feel welcomed and at home in our apartment ---
...
What a wonderful place to stay, great location, wonderful views, no problems to speak of, one of the best accomodations I've ever stayed in (and the price for what we got was outstanding) ---
...
Actually 'very good value for money' is understating it --- it was a truly memorable and enjoyable week in Montepulciano ---
...
Sitting room with sofas and fireplace was great --- it may be on the web site but I wasn't expecting it --- bed was comfortable, complimentary bottle of Chianti on arrival was a nice touch --- Giacomo was a really nice guy ---
...
As above --- would recommend it with enthusiasm as the place to stay to anyone thinking of spending any time in Central Italy ---

Giacomo Stuart was a great help to us in dealing with an auto accident. His easy-going and friendly nature made us feel comfortable from the start. WE had a great stay and would definitely go back again.

Lighting is a bit dim in most of the rooms.

Fantastic, particularly for the spacious views.

The apartment was beautiful. The views were awesome. I quess the only complaint was the landlord was not there to greet us, we rang the bell for approx 30 mins, then someone lead us up to the apartment. Then on our last nite, we were somewhat concerned as there was no one to pay for the rooms!!
The landlords Mother cud not speak English and wud not accept our money. The landlord did show on our morning of departure to pay him. We wud stay there again!!!!!
But, please do not recommend to anyone with
problems with stairs/walking... it is certainly not an easy entrance. We were very happy and comfortable in this apartment, as two couples travelling together and the town itself is AWESOME!!
We all felt so comfortable and safe!!
We cannot answer all your questions as they do not apply to apartment vs hotel stay

Lots of books (all in Italian !!)very spacious and comfortable, great for two couples or a family of four.
Thank you

Requires taking three flights of stairs up, down and then up again.

Absolutely lovely. That flat was newly remodeled with great care and attention to detail. The views were nothing short of breathtaking. The proprietor, Giacomo Stuart, was very gracious and available to assist when needed.

I liked the apartment very much and would be happy to return. One small point - the outside bell did not work, otherwisw everything was fine.

It was confusing, but quite comical and not their fault.

Excellent apartment, very tidy and with all necessary accomdations. Very warm reception by the mother of the landlord.
...
Situated at the upper far end of the town, with a superb view over the hills, it's a ideal place to explore southern Tuscany, the wines of Montepulciano and the italian way of life. The apartment has a very tasteful, cosy style and it was simply fun staying there two weeks.

Although we didn't call ahead to Mr. Stuart from Pisa, he was at his residence when we arrived and graciously helped us with our luggage into the apartment. He stayed to show us around the apartment and even made our dinner reservations for us.
...
Although Mr. Stuart did not have any breakfast supplies for us, he did have a bottle of wine and a bottle of mineral water for us. We were disappointed by the hardness of the mattress but it was brand new. The sheets and towels could have been upgraded without too much expense, but the furniture in general was very luxe, especially the bed covering in the larger of the two bedrooms. Perhaps you should note that the shower cannot accomodate anyone who is not reasonably trim - luckily we are! It is an extremely small enclosed shower with a very narrow door opening. The apartment itself was very spacious and there was plenty of storage space, eating area and relaxation area for the two of us. Our apartment (#2) did not have the following items: washing machine, CD player, toaster, Hoover, hair dryer, ironing equipment, sofa bed, or bathtub, so your descriptions under Facilities and Accommodations should be amended. Parking was easy, just outside the front door. However, access to our apartment was not easy: from the front entry door off the street we ascended a flight of stairs, more stairs to an outside door, outside stairs down, a walk through a garden, outside stairs up, entry through a back door, another flight of stairs up to our apartment. Not for the faint of heart or weak of legs! But the view is worth every step - it is so lovely, whether by sunrise or sunset, by midday or moonlight.
...
Painless, but Mr. Stuart is not always in town so I'm not sure what would have happened if he wasn't around when we needed to leave. We would have had to call his cell phone from a pay phone up the street. He was very accomodating about accepting a personal check in dollars for the apartment rental which had been quoted in euros.
...
Access to the apartment should be noted, I think. Also, though the apartment is well insulated from the other apartments, the street noise (cars and motorbikes and late night carousers) is quite pronounced. Those picturesque shuttered windows do not insulate sound. Definitely emphasize the beauty of the view from the bedrooms and the graciousness of the host, who speaks English with great ease and fluency. Any comments which I have made here are only to aid Mr. Stuart and your service to enhance the stay at the Politian Apartments.

When people asked me my favorite part of the trip to Italy, I say 'the moment we stepped into our apartment in Montepulciano - it was even more beautiful than the photos and description on the internet. I knew right then that the trip was going to be a success.'

I regret to say I speak no Italian, and no one at checkin spoke English, but we managed. We had to figure out the heat, stove, etc. by ourselves, but it all worked out well within a day. We received the key and paid the fee and all worked out fine!
...
The apartment was lovely. There were no surprises. The web site described the accomodations accurately.
...
Checkout was simple. I rang the owner's doorbell and handed his Mother the cash fee.
...
I didn't refresh my memory as to what the website says prior to my filling this out. If it doesn't mention it is spacious, it certainly is.
...
A beautiful, spacious, well equipped apartment in a beautiful hill town, with the additional bonus of being a few minute walk from the center of town, near to wonderful restaurants, an absolutely stunning view of the Tuscan hillsides and parking at your doorstep.

It would help to have more specific
directions once you reach the top of the
hill. We asked the first person we saw
however, who was able to direct us to the
street easily. We were greeted by a lovely
Italian woman who called herself 'Mama.'
She spoke no English but we were able to
understand the specifics through gestures
and the little Italian we do understand.
...
They could use some new towels.

Your FAQs state that breakfast supplies are
provided. This is not the case. (It was
not stated in the voucher, so it was not a
problem but it probably should be removed
from the FAQs.)

FAQ also stated that there is a tv. There is
not. Again, not a big deal but it isn't
accurate.

Read a review on another website saying that
there was a washer there. It had been
removed. You may want to add that there is
no washing machine in the FAQ. There is a
laundry nearby (not self service). I
realize the bad info did not come from your
site but it would be helpful to know.

...
We paid the day before we left, so there was
no problem checking out.
...
It would have been helpful to have an
extra key since there were several locked
doors between the front door and the
apartment and we did not necessarily all
want to be in/out at the same time.
...
Charming, spacious apartment in a wonderful
location at a reasonable price. We loved our
stay at the Politian Apartments and would
come back again.

We were very confused when driving through the villaqe. It would be helpful to have some landmarks in the driving directions. Montepulciano is a very confusing village to drive through for a first time visitor.
...
The apartment had an overhead light in the kitchen that did not work. We had a little trouble with the power going out once. Mr. Stuart took care of the problem in a timely manner.
...
We didn't realize that we had to pay cash for our stay. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.
...
Difficult to find for the first time.

Also, it would be nice to know that the city of Montepulciano has a restricted traffic zone through the city from 8am-8pm.
...
A really nice apartment with a great view of the Tuscan countryside.

Lovely apartment in great location. Very friendly and welcoming owners.
...
Wasn't quite sure which bit of the garden we could use and didn't really want to ask. As it happened we didn't as we preferred to either be out or in the apartment overlooking the view.

A little difficult to find no 32 on the street. The precise location should be included in the online directions. Otherwise totally satisfactory.

We had an absolutely first class experience, and the appartment was an important factor in that.

We took the train from Rome to Chuisi and then a taxi to Montepulciano. This was the ideal way to get there without a hire car.

We sat outside for an hour upon arrival. The street no. was different to the accommodation no. and therefore no one answered the door. We then approached a local person who advised us to try another door which was further up the road. We got response from this door.
We were told we were in apartment 1 but were taken to apartment 2 and as the young lady couldnt speak or language we werent sure if we were in the correct apartment. Eventually had to put a phone call through to the land lord at our expense before we unpacked.
...
We felt that the kitchen area was not up to our cleanliness standards especially the oven which hadnt been cleaned. The dishes from previous tenant was just on the draining rack and hadnt been put away. But the apartment was very big and very comfortable.
In brief the kitchen tidiness and cleanliness let the place down.
...
No problems.
The manager was friendly and couteous and helpful. Mind you we only met with him on the day of our leaving.
...
It was advertised that there was a TV and washing machine.
There was no washing machine and we had to ask for the TV which was delivered to the apartment the following day.

...
Roomy, comfortable but had a hell of a lot of stairs to get to it.

When we arrived they were not aware of the reservation and no one was there to greet us. We had to find a public phone and telephone the gentleman who was in Florence at the time. He was not able to come to Montepulciano until the end of the next day.
He was helpful in that he arranged with a friend to put us up in one of their apartments at Pienza for one night.
When we returned the next day, he was still not there to greet us at the agreed time. When we finally got in to the apartment, it was not as specified in the website. There was no TV, CD player or washing machine and although tidy the apartment looked like it had not been cleaned since the end of the last season. When we went to cook the oven was filthy so only used the stove top. As we were only there for 3 of our 4 booked nights, we did not make a big deal of it but we were not impressed.
This was the middle of our holiday and had planned it so that washing of clothes could be done and that we could enjoy the tranquility of an apartment and home comforts after staying in Hotels for a couple of weeks.
To the owners defence he only charged us for 3 nights, however I would have expected for him to have arranged a cleaner to come in and give the apartment a once over before we were given the keys.
