Facilities within the Estate

The old tower, focal point of the group, is one of only a few intact examples in the Siena area, and still has its open terrace running around inside the merlons from wich to keep watch as far as Siena. Opposite the tower is an ancient palazzo converted to a barn for silk production two centuries ago, but you can still see the two beautiful bifora windows which hark back to a more splendid past.

The ancient buildings have been refurbished inside very comfortably with state-of-the-art bathrooms, plumbing, kitchen equipment and central heating and are furnished with antique furniture.
The
private gardens are furnished for outdoor summer eating, drinking and relaxing, while you look out over truly spectacular views toward Siena and the Chianti hills.

According to the weather conditions the swimmingpool is open from May untill September.
A beautiful scenic place to swim is the
river Merse, just 4 km. distant and easily reached by car. The river is clean and protected from pollution by the Sienese authoritiesad. You are invited to ride mountain bikes or walk along the forest paths and it is possible to arrange exciting trips in a hot air balloon as well.

Facilities Outside the Estate

Amongst the gentle, wooded hills, olive groves and vineyards linked together by sandy tracks, bordered by cypress trees and umbrella pines, there are tiny, picturesque hamlets, villages, monasteries and castles to discover at your leisure. The restaurant is just a short walk from the houses to the village of Stigliano below. The next village along is Torri where you can visit the ancient cloister of a medioeval monastery, a little oasis of beauty and serenity less than a mile away. You are so close to the treasures of Siena and yet just a short drive from Florence as well.

In General: There are shops in the village of Rosia, 3 km. away and the highway "Siena - Firenze" is very close.
