 La Torre: 4 self-contained apartments ( 10 - 15 guests altogether): 4 double, 1 twin, 6 sofa beds, 3 bathrooms, 1 shower room central heating, dishwashers shared washing machine. The medieval tower is one of the most authentic and beautiful still extant in the Siena area. Built in the 12th. C., it served originally to protect the flourishing commercial development of the area. Now beautifully restored the floors are tiled in hand made terracotta, walls delicately colour washed, ceilings, apart from the vaulted ground floor, have massive chestnut beams. A lot of the furniture is antique. The four floor tower may be rented as a whole, or it adapts perfectly to be divided into two or into four completely self-contained units, each with access from the main staircase. The ground floor kitchen/dining-room has been equipped to be able to serve all four floors. With a large dining table, it opens out into the gardens. |

 Apartment "Torre 4", (4+1 guests). Third and fourth floor; living/ dining room with full kitchen equipment, single sofa bed, 1 twin bedroom, bathroom. An elegant spiral staircase leads to the top floor of the tower, where there is an open terrace running around merlons on the roof. Within this is a large, glass-walled, double bedroom. It would be perfectly natural to keep watch through the merlons, cross bow in hand, for marauding hordes coming across from Siena, silhouetted in the far hills.
La Torre House: house composed by the 4 self-contained independent apartment mentioned above. The four floors of the tower are rented as a unique accommodation, but each is independent with their facilities, each with access from the main staircase. The ground floor kitchen/dining -room has been equipped to be able to serve all four floors. With a large dining table, it opens out into the gardens. There are spaces closeby to dine outside. You can book the whole house for a week min. from sat. to sat. |
 Apartment "Capanna", (4+1 guests). 1 double, 1 small double, 1 sofa-bed, 1 shower room. Central heating (extra). Separate from the other houses in the hamlet, this house faces across the plain below Stigliano, with a picturesque view of Siena in the far distance. Arched double glass doors lead to a sitting room with fireplace and divan bed. The kitchen/ dining room has a door directly onto a covered, furnished patio. The first floor has a shower room, double bedroom and small double bedroom. |
 Apartment "Loggia", (4 guests). Double room, 1 sofa-bed, 1 shower room. Heating extra. This house is across a grassy courtyard from the tower and reached by external marble and brick steps. Sitting/dining-room with large tuscan fireplace, breakfast kitchen with a furnished loggia looking at the ancient buildings. Double bedroom, shower room. An open wooden staircase leads to a large mansard double bedroom/ studio with a sofa-bed, particularly lovely beamed ceiling and extensive views. Between the house and the tower, a few steps in the ancient walls lead to wide, long gardens, furnished for sunbathing and shared with guests at the tower.
Finally there is also a four rooms apartment with a winding staircase up to the bedrooms named "Casa Ventura", sleeps 6+2. |
