I arrived to a big beautiful smile!
Even though it was Sunday, the receptionist was there to greet me, take me to my apartment and show me through it. ... The reality is better than the photos: the apartment was larger and had more style to it than I could pick up from the website.
And the SMELL of the Tuscan landscape was not on the web! ... Good value perhaps also because it was not high season.
After a stay of three weeks - checking out took three minutes. ... ALL of the staff were great - from the Director of the whole farm, the commercial manager, the accountant etc through to the service staff.
It is perfectly located - 20 ks. south of Florence, 25 minutes from Siena, 50 minutes from Lucca etc etc - to explore Tuscany.
VERY good wine, including their Grappa and Vin Santo! ... My apartment house was surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, on a hill, with birds everywhere. It was very quiet yet only three minutes from the SuperStrada. I was free to walk all over the property. And above all the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful.

A very friendly and helpful welcome. ... Overall, the quality of the accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, well maintained and the staff were very professional and took obvious pride in looking after us well. A couple of minor things would have further enhanced the experience. A map of the whole property on arrival, to help with orientation and moving about the estate. would be helpful. And the cooler in the room was very small and not really in keeping with the quality furnishings and decor. Since we were atying for a week, a slightly bigger fridge, perhaps hidden in one of the cupboards, would have been good. ... A good experience. ... As above. ... A lovely place to stay, comfortable, clean, great staff, and well located for exploring Tuscany.

We were very pleased with our stay at Villa S. Andrea. In particular, Martina went out of her way to help us with directions. She also took it on herself to help us with the railroad and car rental agency at the time of the railroad strike. She, Mr. Juan, and Francesco helped make our stay a delight.

Very beautiful place to stay surrounded by legendary vineyards and cities. Great views. You can see even wild animals and birds. Only 16 km from Florence. Villa S.Andrea has it's own Chianti Classico production. The staff of Villa was very polite and helpful.

Everyone was very friendly and the place was outstanding! ... We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone! ... The picture perfect place you would stay in Tuscany. Very centrally located and we could drive to many different towns each day with no problem. The staff were very friendly and ready to help out with restaurant reservations and directions etc. We would stay here again with no hesitation.

The Villa S. Andrea was absolutely amazing. It more than exceeded our expectations. The overall grounds were breathtaking, and the Villa Zobi (which we stayed in) was perfect. Large, spacious, and quintessential Tuscan style, mixung old world charm with all the modern ammenetied one could desire. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would reccomend the Villa S.Andrea to anyone looking for a place to stay in Tuscany! ... I would encourage them to stay there, it is perfectly situated in Tuscany (proximity to Sienna, Florence, and Grevi), and the grounds and accomodations were breathtaking! I have already encouraged three future travelers to look this place up and to try to book it for their accomodations!

My only complaint was that the breakfast was marginal (very limited selection and very unimaginative) and started serving too late. It was advertised at 0800 but the two times I bothered to wait for it, it was more like 0815/0820. For these two reasons, I skipped eating there the other six days. It is a wonderful facility, beautifully maintained, and very convenient to use as a base to travel around Tuscany.
... See my comments above about breakfast ... Excellent value for money - beautiful setting, very conveniently located

There are two turns to Sambuca; and if you take the first one, you end up in the middle of an industrial area. ... One of the best travel experiences we have ever had. Laila, the manager, was absolutely exceptional. ... Take all of the wonderful things you have heard about Tuscany and they spell Villa S. Andrea.

The grounds and facilities were beautiful! All of the staff were extremely helpful. ... the only thing I didn't like about our room were the linens and bedspread and pillows. They could have been nicer and newer. ... really good tours of the wine cellar and fun wine tastings. ... very private apartment on beautiful grounds

the necessity of having your own transport (eg: rental car), to access surrounding villages for shops and restaurants etc ... beautifully quiet and relaxing
our hosts were some of the friendliest and most helpful that we had come across in our travels in Italy

Suggestion : we would have liked to have someone welcome us at breakfast and ask us if everything was fine or if anything was missing (as an example, we would have like Cappucino coffee but nobody was around) ... Nice place with the advantage that it's a Wine Estate. We appreciated the small bottle of wine they put in our room and the free visit of the cellar.

the swimming pool on the webside was somewhat misleading since the swimming pool was located at another villa. ... A wonderful experience! Staying at a Tuscan Wine Estate on a Hillside in the Chianti region of Tuscany. The villa, rooms, breakfast setting all decorated in Tuscan style with beautiful old furniture pieces. All very very nicely done.

When we called to advise that we would be arriving late due to air travel and traffic problems, staff were very helpful, and stayed in the office until we arrived at 2030 hours - very much appreciated. ... A very nice property. Loved the house and the garden!
Encountered some problems getting hot water in the ground floor bathroom, and we had a steady parade of hard shell bugs coming in by the front door.
Had to request towel and sheet change on day 4 of our stay. We were surprised toilet paper wasn't provided after roll #1! - certainly nothing serious. ... Quick and professional. Thank you.
... A great place to unwind and enjoy. Well located for day trips to Florence, Siena, and the Tuscan hilltowns. Helpful, friendly staff.
We wish we were still there!

This was a marvelous place in a little village in Tuscany, and very quiet. The manager (Leila) was very helpful in recommending very good restaurants and things to do in the nearby villages.
