Within easy driving distance are the most important cities of Tuscany and Umbria. Shops and supermarkets are just 2 km away.

Arezzo (25 km):
Arezzo is an extremely ancient city: it was one of the leading Etruscan "lucumonie" and made great development in Roman times thanks to its foundries and production of pots.
Arezzo is set in the south-east of Tuscany, in the middle of four marvellous valleys which radiate out from the town: the "Val Tiberina", "Casentino ", "Valdarno" and "Valdichiana". The artistic city features highly interesting and original elements: there is nothing else like the church of St.Maria della Pieve, Piazza Grande with its sloping surface and the arrangement of its surrounding buildings which fire the imagination, the Crucifix of Cimabue (13th century) in the church of St. Domenico, the Renaissance treasure of the Portico of St.Maria delle Grazie (15th century) and, lastly, the masterpiece: the series of frescoes representing Scenes of the Cross by Piero della Francesca (15th century) in the church of San Francesco.

Cortona (20 km):
Cortona is a great artistic and cultural attraction not only for its Etruscan past, of which there are many significant remains, but also for
many architectural and pictorial works belonging to different epochs. The annual Antique Furniture Exhibition is very well known and attended by many people. It takes place at the very beginning of September. In Valdichiana, the towns of Monte San Savino, Lucignano and Castiglion Fiorentino are interesting tourist attractions for their art, architecture and landscapes. Visit the Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca and the old Etruscan and medieval town with its shops, the churches and the theatre.

Siena (45 km):
This town is of great environmental and artistic interest with a wealth of important monuments including:
Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful medieval squares in Italy. Palazzo Pubblico (13th-14th century in Gothic style) overlooked by the bold Torre del Mangia (14th century, 102 m. high) and Palazzo Sansedoni (13th-14th century, altered in the 19th century); in Piazza del Duomo lie the Duomo (12th-14th century), one of the best examples of Gothic in Italy, with beautiful graffito and intarsia flooring, Libreria Piccolomini (in the left aisle, with valuable 16th century frescoes) and the 14th century Baptistry (font by Jacopo della Quercia), the Spedale di S. Maria della Scala (13th-14th century) and the remains of the Duomo Nuovo (14th century).

Montepulciano (25 km):
The well-chosen position of this town makes it possible to admire the hills of Orcia Valley and the Montepulciano and Chiusi lakes. About 14,000 people live in this area of some 165 kmē which includes both hills and lowland.
Montepulciano is a jewelcase of artistic and architectural treasures, has a population of 5,000 and is the seat of several important public offices (the tribunal, the attorney's office, local magistrates and tax offices).

Pienza (30 km):
Pienza, a small town near Siena, is a rare example of Renaissance town building. Defined, from time to time, the "ideal city", the "utopian city", it represents one of the best planned Renaissance towns, where a model of ideal living and governing was realised thus working out the idea of a town able to satisfy the need for a pacific, civil and hardworking living. Its location in the middle of Val d'Orcia, a wonderful and untouched valley, enables the town to perfectly embody humanistic architecture: the relationship between human and nature. Nowadays Pienza is part of a the "Parco artistico, naturale e culturale della Val d'Orcia", which aims to preserve the extraordinary artistic heritage of its five boroughs: Castiglion d'Orcia, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Radicofani and Pienza.

Chiusi (30 km):
Chiusi, was one of the most powerful cities in the Etruscan league, reaching back to the 7th and 6th centuries BC. There is a large number of Etruscan tombs in the surrounding countryside.

Montalcino (46 km):
The road that leads to Montalcino will allow for an appreciation of the true beauty of the place
. Having arrived at the summit you can seethe splendour of the varied panorama from the Senese hills to the mountains of Amiata. The fortress (constructed to defend the territory in 1361) is the highest point of the city and dominates the surrounding valleys. The center of this small town is exemplary of the architecture of the late Middle Ages.
