 Managed since the first years of the 1200 by the "Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala", the castle was surely used as fortified farm and recover for the wayfarers which went along this important road. In the middle of the 15th century the castle underwent a prominent restoration intervention and it was still fortified. |
The castle, situated in the heart of Val D'Orcia between Pienza and San Quirico d'Orcia, express a great charme. The farmhouse has been recovered by the ancient barn of the castle and it consists of two apartments furnished with ancient furniture of the valley's countryside. |
