We had a wonderful time at Il Serraglio. Roberto and Manuela were great - very hospitable - and the apartment was perfect. We enjoyed the peaceful environment, fabulous views, comfortable accommodations, and spectacular property. I plan to return!

Our room was wonderful with probably one of the most comfortable beds that we have on our trip (it wasn't two twins pushed together). The room was romantic and nice.
The only bad thing was the breakfast. He brought packaged rolls by and that was about it.

There should be information about their wine. It was wonderful!

It was a very nice place to stay close to Montepulciano. I would recommend staying there.

Roberto went out of his way to show us around, and was even kind enough to make reservations for us at a very nice casual restaurant nearby after a very long day of travel. The food was wonderful.

The property grew on us each additional day we were there. It had true charm of making you feel like you were in an old country house--big spacious great room, but with very nice modern bathroom facilities. The view from the pool of Lake Tresimino was stunning.

The site does a nice job of describing the accommodation. The one thing I would have liked more of, not only on the Serraglio site, but on others I also considered, are more property maps and accommodation floor plans, drawn to scale. Particularly for the I Girasoli house, this would be a plus, because it has such a nice open floor plan.

I Girasoli is a wonderful house for a rustic, but comfortable, stay in the Tuscan hill country for a family with children. Even in extreme heat, the authentic stone construction and orientation of the house keep the interior and the porch cool. Excellent bathroom facilities, consistent with what US residents would expect of a high quality US hotel. Convenient to the A1 and Chiusi, the main rail line to Rome and Florence, we would definitely return here on a future trip.
