By car from Florence
Autostrada del Sole A1 up to the exit Firenze Certosa. Follow directions to Siena for about 65 km along the major road till the exit Siena-sud (forth exit from the North). Follow directions to Rome, Buonconvento, Monteroni, Montalcino.
By car from Rome
Autostrada del Sole A1 up to the exit Chiusi Chianciano Terme, Montepulciano. Follow directions to Chianciano Terme, Montepulciano, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia and so on. Before the town you will find a cross-road: turn to Siena after about 2 kms on the right you will find a sign to Montalcino.
In Montalcino
1. At the top of the hill as you approach Montalcino there is a traffic circle. Take the exit that is furthest around to the left. A sign will indicate: "Castelnuovo dell'Abate" and "S. Antimo". Go for about 9 kms. until reaching the village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. Turn right and then in about 100 metres, right again to take the road to the Abbey di Sant'Antimo.
2. When you get to the parking lot for the Abbey, drive through the parking lot past the Abbey. (There will be a sign indicating that entrance is not permitted except for private landowners. Ignore this sign.)
3. As you go by the Abbey, there will be a road to the right. Ignore this road, and instead keep going to the end of the parking lot and then straight down the hill on a narrow gravel road.
4. When you come to a fork in the road, take the left fork. bContinue to follow the road down until you come to another fork. Take the right fork and cross a small bridge. Proceed up the hill and keep to the left.
5. By keeping to the left you will come to a dead end. The Molino gate is on the left. Press the button and the key holder will open the gate from inside the house.
By air
The nearest airport is Florence. From there we suggest you to rent a car and follow the above indications.
By train
The nearest train station is Siena. Then we suggest to rent a car, because the property is 25 km far from the station. |
