We really loved staying at Locanda Sant'Agostino. Everything was beautiful - the room, the shared space, and the outdoor patio. The room was very clean and comfortable as well as elegant. Sarah and Ilio were very kind, warm, attentive, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and plenitful. We especially enjoyed the bowl of fresh fruit each morning. I would highly recommend the Locanda. ... Very smooth and organized. ... Our room was not air conditioned...only a fan. However, it was very warm in Lucca (over 90 degrees) and the room remained fairly cool with the huge windows opened at night so it was not a problem at all. ... A beautiful place to stay. It had the atmosphere of an elegant old world setting. The patio covered with wisteria and surrounded by lemon trees and greenery was charming. The host and hostess were very accomodating. I can't imagine a place that had more charm or more of a feeling of beautiful Tuscany.

Sarah was friendly and helpful with setting up reservations for meals and other activities.
She helped us up with our luggage, and explained door locking procedures.
Also let us help ourselves to unlimited amounts of beverages in refrigerator. ... There was a/c in 2 of our rooms. Website stated that only 1 room had a/c.
Very important since it was in the 90's when we were there. ... 14th century building with amazing architecture and decor.
Sarah is kind and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious!

Our hosts were not there to welcome us in this small 3 room facility, soon to be 4. However, we did not let them know about when to expect us. We soon found helpful neighbors who called our host and she was there in 5 minutes. This situation only added to the unique charm of this little B&B. It was the most charming place we stayed on our 2 weeks in Italy, and all of us wish to return. We also thought Lucca was a wonderful city, and the younger members of the party loved the bike riding around the city and its walls. Also Italy's victory!! ... Our hosts were very helpful as we experienced our first visit to Lucca. They helped us with location of important sites, and made reservations in a very nice nearby restaurant where we were able to watch Italy win the World Cup!! Their Locando was unique and very chgarming, with huge rooms and bathrooms, with beautiful modern fixtures, and great decorative embelishments in the bedrooms. Because it is so small, we felt as if it were our own apartment. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, served on their charming little terrace, plenty big enough for the small property. We did not realize it was a small B&B, not knowing the meaning of Locando. However, it was perfect for our family of 8. We would be very happy to stay there again, and recomment it highly to our friends ... We were sorry to leave after only 2 days there, could have stayed a week very comportably. ... The photos of the unique bedrooms were very accurate. The bathrooms I don't remember were photographed, but they were very clean, modern and of fine quality, and large. ... Very warm and helpful hosts, husband and wife. As I have said before, unique, charming and whimsical bedrooms and baths, with excellent quality in the construction and furnishings. We are most enthuiastic about Locando Sant' Agustino. I just hope there will be room for us when we get to return.

The owner, Sarah, is very welcoming and helpful. We liked the little patio. The location, close to the wall, but accessible to all of the sites, was great. ... There's a long flight of steps up to the Locanda, so it may be difficult to get the suitcases up the stairs. However, Sarah was very helpful with this. ... A small bed-and-breakfast (3 rooms). Large room with high ceilings, felt very Italian. Nice breakfast room with patio. Friendly, helpful owner. Good breakfast. Great location.

The website shows the room with the four poster bed, it would be better if it showed the three rooms in the accomodation to avoid disappointment ... A really nice bed and breakfast. Very welcoming and helpful staff / owners. Very ventral location. Really enjoyed stay. In comparison to other hotels / bed and breakfasts in Tuscany it is not cheap.

Owner (Sarah) was terrific. My 8 year old son lost a tooth while on the trip and she wrote a note from Topolino, the Italian version of the tooth fairy. ... Positive: There is a very good restaurant right across the street and a CD player in the bedroom. Negative: Courtyard area is on another floor and I didn't get a key to this area but maybe this is because I did not purchase breakfast.
... Ground floor room in a converted palace. Quiet and convenient. Great for a family with 2 small kids.

Our arrival was made exceptionally pleasant by our host, Sarah. ... A facility is only as good as the people who are in attendance to provide the service. In this case, Sarah is a valuable asset to the property.
