We were greeted by the owner who could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. He showed us many rooms so that we could pick the one that was best suited for us. He gave us a tour of the property and explained the history of it. We felt comfortable and at home from the beginning. ... I would reccommend San Sameone to anyone who would be looking for a wonderful experience in that area of Tuscany. It is the most romantic little piece of heaven that we have stayed in. Sergio and his staff are so accommodating and willing to help with anything that you need. We will return again soon. ... It was a tearful goodbye and we did not want to leave that beautiful place. ... Although the website is good I do not believe that any website could prepare you for your arrival at San Simeone. It is just breathtaking beautiful. We did several day trips from the hotel to other areas around and we always looked forward to getting back to San Simeone. ... As close to heaven as you can get! A romantic inn with the most incredible views you can imagine. The host and staff are so nice. They made us feel like family.

They greeted us warmly. We were made to feel at home right away. ... We loved our stay at Hotel San Simeone. They were the first reason to return to Italy from the States. We will recommend their Hotel to all of our frends. Your site was instrumental in reaching them. Thank you very much. ... I would include that the village has a delicious restaurant located just down the hill and that they also operate a wonderful little wine bar, I think they called a Locanda. ... Fantastic! Would go back to stay.

The standard of the accomodation is very good. The only problem we had was the smell of probebly some sort of insectssray which gave us trouble. ... We were missing the possibility to have lunch or dinner at the hotel and few possebilities to do that in the neigborhood. ... We really appreciated the staff, the standard and the view was extraordinary/outstanding. The relaxing atmosphere is very good. We will really recommend this hotel to our friends.

You may say that this hotel is placed on a trafic restricted natural area on a small village. This could help parents to decide that this is a suitable place for children. ... Very nice place. Quiet and paceful. Astonishing views.

Hotel needs a light on the sign. We could not find it in the dark. ... The most incredible hotel experience we have had in years! A property and location you can only dream of for a European vacation. ... We were sorry to leave. Sergio and Anna treated us like family. ... Situated in one of the loveliest and most private little villages in D'Orcia. We loved the commanding views of the Valley, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere. Would love to see the place in summer when the terraces are open and flowers in bloom
... The most memorable hotel in our many travels to Europe. Like a castle high on a hill. Sergio even showed us the little chapel, as the property was once a convent. Go at any price, at any inconvenience.

Sergio was exceptionally warm and welcoming. ... The Hotel is incredible, the views are stunning. San Simeone is more than can be expected because you just can't capture that incredible view in pictures! The rooms have beautiful views; they're clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped. The breakfasts are simple but delicious, and the dinners at the nearby restaurant were outstanding. Sergio is an exceptional host, and the heart and soul of Hotel San Simeone. This was by far our best stay in Italy!! ... When we said goodbye to Sergio, we felt we had made a friend for life. ... We actually got in late at night and the innkeeper left us a nice note with an apology for not being there. He left our room open and the keys inside and a map to the room. ... We were on our honeymoon for two weeks in Italy and this hotel and area was the most amazing of an already amazing trip. When we opened up our shutters in the morning and saw all of Tuscany laid out before us, we were in awe. The innkeeper greeted us for breakfast and actually opened up the doors to his panoramic view of the land and said that he wanted to show us 'his heaven'. Everything was perfect here and we highly recommend it! ... The view was better than stated and the hotel was so much more than words could describe. ... I would tell them that I was speechless when we realized that the beautiful place on the hill that looked like a castle was actually our hotel!

The hotel is at the top of a tiny village through small windy streets; it was unclear from the directions exactly where it was when we first arrived; of course it was fine once we knew where we were going and there is a much easier way to get there than through the village. It would be helpful to include some more detailed directions in your website. ... The hotel is wonderful and Sergio, Cristina and the rest of the staff terrific - friendly, welcoming and professional. We loved it. The hotel can be heartily recommended to any of your clients. The pool is wonderful, The village beautiful and quiet. And the local restaurants (two) and cafe (one) perfect for our needs. A great stay all round. Please pass on our thanks again to the hotel. ... Where you point out that there are no restaurant facilities in the hotel, you might say that there are two restaurants in the village - one more formal than the other and it is worth booking for the former. A local cafe serves lunch and snacks etc and is only a five minute walk from the hotel. ... Wonderful.
Not for someone who wants a wild week of partying. This is a place to come and relax, to sit by the pool overlooking the magnificant view, it is simple but charming, and it a beautiful accesible part of Tuscany.

We ran late because we went to the wrong town first. Alex who greeted us at the hotel was patient with our tardiness and gave us great customer service, even taking us down to our room. ... We were so pleased with our hotel stay. And the restaurant recommended by Alex was one of our favorites in Italy. Well done. ... Alex was very professional but extremely kind during our stay. I even received a unique soap as a lovely gift upon departure. ... It is the perfect place to situate yourself for day trips into the towns of Tuscany. We will do that next time--we did not have enough time there. ... We have been referring to it as our medieval hotel on a hill that truly showcases all that is wonderful in Tuscany--lovely people, delicious food and marvelous accomodations with spectacular views.

The directions would have been better if it gave us an idea of how many kilometers approximately that we would be on any one of the highways especially s2 ... . We enjoyed our stay there very much but next time we will stay closer to the hotel itself. ... In looks it was exactly as the website showed..Very unique and very beautiful... It however did not say that our apartment would be off premises and that we would have to be able to walk very steep driveways in order to go to breakfast.. It was ok for us,( we are in our 60's) but anyone that was older and not in good physical condition the accomodation would have been impossible.. So it would be good if they mentioned that... ... There was no airconditioning,( which at the time of year we did not need) but there also were no screens on the windows.. We had bees coming in and out of the apartment..Or we would have had no air circulation at all. ...
The apartments are not at the Hotel and they are in an authentic village..with cobble stone streets and fantastic views.. ... This location is amazing and a memorable experience.. If you want luxury stay at the main Hotel and not at the apartments...

Receptionist nor manager hardly spoke any English which makes it tough to get relevant advice re. restourants and places to go to. ... Great location, all comfort available but missing 'a soul' as not may people around and no informal communication possible with manager/staff ... Needed to fill in kind of security documents, bit unclear. Not saying it was dodgy but again more of a communication problem. ... Without a car )we had luckally) you're stuck as nothing is happening in Rocca village itself, great restaurants though in Bagno Vignoni. ... Again, great location, all comfort you want but needs an Italian 'mama' as manager to bring the hotel alive and give it some warmth & soul
