As the new part was still in construction, it is dificult to mention a problem.
We stayed in the old villa, and it was superb.

we were more than happy with the service; everybody went out of the way to be helpful; this was the least expensive hotel we stayed at during our Italy trip, but the best one.
We wd love to stay again; we hope that the expansion does not ruin its charm. We wd recommend it to all our friends. The nicest staff of any hotel we have EVER stayed in!! We left our baby stroller in the UK, and they found us one to borrow for our whole Italy trip, even after we checked out!

Very comfortable; the decor was very tastefully done, and the renovations were discreet and did not bother us at all.

Because we had to check out at 9:00am, due to having to close the hotel for an electrical inspection, they gave us a very generous discount.

unique 'things' - like hot/cold jet sprays
that you run through and big saunas (two of
them) and a full outdoor pool plus an

I would not recommend the facility for
families with children. We brought our 5 and
8 year olds and while they had a nice time,
the facility does not acomodate children well.
In particular, there are no actitities and
they are not allowed in the indoor pool or in
the spa.

An excellent hotel which we were very pleased with and would recommend to anyone thinking of travelling to the area.
We also stayed in a few other hotels booked through tuscany.net and all were excellent and lived up to the online descriptions

An excellent restaurant with food and service which was superb, and quite unusual to find in a hotel. No need to leave the hotel at night as the food was exceptionally good.

Even though the property was exactly as on the web site, it still exceeded our expectations. The property was immaculate and the staff beyond reproach. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our staff at Villa San Paolo and would like to return. The staff always exceeded expectations with their helpfulness.

The accommodations within the rooms are superb! The location is perfect for seeing the Tuscan countryside and towns, and for taking the train to Florence and Sienna.

Spa was still being built. However the hotel had already informed us of this fact.

Yes. We were disappointed with the Restaurant. We & others we met thought the food was not up to the published criteria in quality. Also, my wife has a strong allergy to any type of Fish & the limited menu made it difficult for her. As a result we only had dinner once in the Restaurant.We choose to eat dinner 5 times at the hotel's sister hotel Le Renaie.
In addition, we felt the Breafast was poor for this standard of hotel. From day to day the selection of Cheese,Bread etc was always the same. No variety. In addition the last 3 mornings, the Buffet was not available, because there was not enough people in the hotel. While we were offered breakfast by the people in the Restaurant, there was No menu and this made it difficult for us to guess what might of been available. This resulted in both of us going elsewhere for breakfast on our last morning in the hotel. If you want to be a 4/5 star hotel you need to perform like a top class place even if there is only a few people in the hotel.
These comment are made in a constructive manner to help the hotel improve.

Of course the brand new spa wasn't even shown when we booked the property. It was much greater than we expected and were nervous that pictures could be better.

They have a new state of the art spa which is incredible. What a great way to relax after a day of traveling.
Also the wonderful dining facility was a treat.

Romina was absolutely lovely and helped us

of construction, so during the day is was a
bit noisy and dusty.

small hotel property which feels like you
are staying at your own villa, to a larger
hotel, with newly built rooms with a
conference/spa center.

secluded and very relaxing. A taste of
living in a villa in Tuscany. A very

The place was absolutely wonderful. Our room had a great view and we loved it.
i would recommend the hotel very highly to anyone travelling in that area. My husband and I have travelled many times to Italy and we feel it will be one of our favorite places.

This was our favorite facility. We liked the spaciousness of our room, the two sinks, and the patio. The food was wonderful, both for breakfast and at dinner. And the people were genuinely warm. We would come here again.

Only one of the greeting staff was bilingual.

We had a cat in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast- which was disgusting!

We went into town and had a lost wallet and needed to co0ntact the bank to make sure the credit cards were not used. The front desk was not very empathic and charged us our last 7 euros for calls that were free in the U.S.

The property was lovely and the Staff very nice....however it was very quiet and the other guests were very intolerant of children playing in the pool. I had an argument with a Belgian about my son playing (only as children do in the pool) it upset us all. He was rude and insulted us. I think if the hotel is aiming itself at adults and not families they should say, or if not make sure older adult guests know that kids and swimming pools do not mean silence. It spoilt the stay for us including my somn who then felt unable to have fun and was scared all week .

We paid less than expected because we were staying 8 days and the 8th day was free. I don't know however if that is offered on a continuous basis or from time to time during certain periods of the year.
I hesitated between answering : very good value for money and what I answered because we always feel that we pay too much for what we get.

For your information, Villa San Paolo is going through major renovations and additions. Within the next year, they will move from a 22 rooms hotel to an 80 rooms hotel. A spa, indoor swimming pool, restaurant and conference rooms will be added. Therefore,I believe that their vocation (mission) may be modified in the future moving from a small, cosy and quiet hotel to a 'much larger' hotel. Hoping that their excellent clientele service will remain
untarnished.
Please stay inform of their developments.

The facilities were wonderful; however, it took us about an hour to get all the bugs out of the room. The staff was very nonresponsive when we called. They came to look and said it was just because the hotel was out in the country. Other than that, the facilities and service were wonderful. I would have just expected more concern about bugs from a hotel of that quality.

we were given rooms in the older section of the hotel but they moved us to the newer section, much nicer

A little confusion and delay upon checking out, but as typical americans we expect everything right now- we had to slow down to their pace. It was a terrific stay
