We had a lovely stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were great. The property was much larger and more beautiful than the website revealed. We would definitely return and recommend Borgo San Luigi to our friends. ... see above ... see above ... fun for kids with the live entertainment and the large fun pool area. Spacious enough to find your own spot to relax. ... elegant but family friendly. country resort close to Siena and San Giminiano lots of activities to enjoy or just relax

The property was beautiful and in a nice setting.
The staff had no knowledge of local restaurants or Wineries (which I expected, but was not actually written on the web site)....additionally there were facilites as described, but were some were lacking things like tennis balls, basketballs, etc...which made some of the activities I had hoped the kids could do, not possible (that was very dissapointing)...
Only other minor complain was that on our final 2 days a group of very loud college kids checked in...the first day was ridiculuosly loud, but the final day was quite quiet (either they had been talked to, or naturally settled down)....
To provide balance, I liked the facility and would possibly even recommend others to stay, but I would make sure they called ahead to get information on staffing and facilities before they did.

1. There was a problem with the air conditioning in our room, so that we didn't actually have air conditioning for the first week of our stay. However, for the second week, the hotel arranged for us to move to a neighbouring room with working air conditioning. I feel that it took longer than it should for our complaint to be addressed although the problem was finally resolved to our satisfaction.
2. The gym appeared to be having work carried out on it and didn't seem to be available for guest use. Information about this from the hotel was somewhat sketchy. ... A charming property set in beautiful grounds with a wide choice of activities available - including quietly relaxing on your own private terrace.

Amazing property. You will not want to leave the grounds. However, since you will, just be ready to drive- Tuscany is enormous, and for someone from the US who isn't used to winding, narrow roads without and sort of streetlights, it can be harrowing. Do not let that be a knock on the hotel though- the place was fantastic and we DO plan on staying there again.

Ww had booked a suite but they initially put us in a rather drab normal room. I went and complained and they moved us to a suite. ... Limited restaruant menu for dinner and very expensive for what it is. ... The grounds, pool and room were lovely. The staff were attentive and polite. You definately need a car to stay here, but if you do it is an excellent base to explore Tuscany and Umbria. My only criticism is that the restauarant fot dinner is very expensive, especially compared to local restaurants. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The only item that could be improved was the quality of the food at the hotel. While it was OK, it was not as good as we experienced at the other two Italian hotels on our recent trip.
In fact a meal at a simple restaurant in Volterra was better than anything we had at the hotel.

Borgo San Luigi could need a little paint of the outside walls of the restaurant, the swimming pool was not clean, the sunshades were probably the first ever installed and were mouldy. The wine was served to hot (white and red)and the knowledge of languages of the restaurant staff was too small. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay thanks to the fantastic garden. ... We found out that Italy has become very expensive. We have been staying in better locations in France for a better price. We won't return to Italy in the next years ... needs a refreshing-we would not recommend it-expensive

When we first arrived we were given a room with 2 beds instead of a double. When we showed the voucher again we were given a room with the correct type of bed. We were relieved that the 1st room was not the only one they had available.

The apartment (1 bedroom) was nice, except for the fact that there were cob webs and spiders in the room. I complained the next day and asked that the room be clean sweeped, but it was never done. Me and my family did not feel comfortable enough and left a day earlY. The place was very nice outside, but we felt it was pretty cold. The coffee pot had mold in it. We took care of it. But, these are my comments. I love your website. I will use it again. Thank you.

The description how to get there was wrong. But I think in the meantime it was changed. ... no ... A very nice place to relaxe. We enjoyed it very much. Lovely! Sometimes the staff could be a bit more friendly.(not the waiters)

The property no longer warrants a 4 star status. It has not been maintained to such a level. Perhaps a listing in the 3 star section. Perhaps years ago once the money was invested in the property but it is obvious that current ownership is not making significant investments and the property is showning the wear and tear.
