We had a bit of a nightmare with our hire car and the owner of Podere San Lorenzo was BRILLIANT! She came to pick up the women and children while the men got the car sorted. This was certainly above and beyond what we expected from them. She was also very helpful as a translator during our hire car nightmare.

The owners and staff couldn't do enough for us. They were extemely helpful. The accommodation was more beautiful than we'd expected. The location is brilliant as a base for having a good look around Tuscany and is also perfect for just hanging around all day if you don't care to go anywhere else.

we didn't access the directions to the property online, so we had a little bit of trouble finding the property.

The quality of the dinners (including wine & Grappa!) provided by Marinella was outstanding and should be made known. It was the best cuisine we had during our two weeks in Tuscany!

The villa was more than we expected in terms of friendliness of staff, views, and the historical villa itself. It was a great place to relax after a hectic schedule. Martinella? (hostess) was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The only negative feedback is that they could improve on the breakfast. Bread and jelly/jam and pie gets old after a while. It is also quite a hike into town, and mostly on a busy road, unless you have a car. Janet Bruce

To get into town you either have to walk (uphill all the way) or rely on staff to give you a ride. We walked and had a ride back one time in the evening. Staff were willing to accommodate you if you needed it thoughl. It is better if you have your own transportation.

Although I knew before, it was not a good experience that no one was cleaning the room, making the bed or changing the towels. (We stayed 6 nights!)

We had a fantastic holiday. This is the second time we have stayed at the Podere and we will definately be back. Everything was ideal. The scenery is beautiful, the food delicious and everybody there including the other guests was very friendly.

Really could not think of a negative thing to say about the Podere. It is so beautiful and unspoilt which really adds to the charm of the place and having spoken to other guests that is the what really captivates people about the Podere. People are reluctant to promote it too much because they would not want it to become in any way commercialised.

When my daughter and I drove up to the property, we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. We were so excited to be staying in such a wonderful location. The staff was very helpful and enjoyable. We were able to travel to many cities and towns from this location and felt comfortable coming back to our apartment at night. We also enjoyed purchasing the organic products such as soap, olive oil, and wine for our friends back home. We would certainly return to Podere San Lorenzo if possible and highly recommend it.

That the staff are very helpfull and nice and the location is very good. The only thing that is not as described is teh swimming pool which is not as in the pictures, but i think this is the same all over Tuscany

Having got up at 2AM to catch our flight from Stanstead, we were grateful to be invited to have our evening meal at Podere San Lorenzo, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. The frog chorus and the whole feel of the place were memmorable. A great start to a week in Tuscany.

A villa with character, warm and friendly hosts. An evening meal if available in the old chapel is a must. Close enough to Volterra to give easy access. A good starting point or base for the area.

Ideal for a quiet stay as a family or as a couple. The food provided by the staff was excellent as was the service throughout. The facility was beautiful, remote, yet close to a unique and nice town (Volterra).

The swimming pool was a 'natural pond' and looked very green and uninviting. It was celaned on the second day of our stay - but even so I would not recommend it as safe for children to swim in - it had fish and frogs in it! Also there was no safety barrier between the shallow and deaper areas.

It was helpful to ask the receptionist directions to our next destination. She speaks very good English and even called the Florence museum hotline for us and was on hold for like 30 minutes waiting to try to help us get a reservation!

The instructions were clear until we came to Volterra - The sign to Podere San Lorenzo is very small and we missed it totally on our way in. it was easier to see coming back from Volterra. All other instructions were very clear and good.

We would have preferred changing of towels more often than once a week, perhaps twice a week.
As it is, we stayed 9 days and the towels were never changed.

We really loved and enjoyed our stay. The site is beautiful and in a perfect place to access a great deal of Tuscany on day trips. We would recommend it.
