"San Giorgio" is a farmhouse of the late '700. It belonged to "Santa Luce Estate", together with other farms. The farmhouse has not been inhabited for decades and has been in a completely state of neglect. In 2001, it was fully renovated, keeping and valorising the typical features of farmhouse buildings of Tuscany countryside: an exclusive place for an unforgettable holiday. |
"San Giorgio" was built in the late '700 as a farmhouse and, together with other farms, it was part of "Santa Luce Estate", that belonged to the noble family of the Counts Malenchini. Recently the farmhouse belonged to the Bank of Monte dei Paschi di Siena. The farmhouse was inhabited upstairs by two peasant families while downstairs it was used for replacing farm carts, for cellars and for storerooms. |
Outside, there were the cattle shed, the hayloft, the pigsty, the hen house and a wood-burning oven. In front of the house, there was the usual "threshing floor" where the threshing of corn took place and the typical straw stacks were set up. In the summertime, the threshing floor was the meeting place for families and, the evenings usually ended up in dances, to the sound of an accordion. Your relax will be assured in the large swimming-pool, set in a panoramic situation, with a spacious solarium equipped with comfortable deckchairs. |
A pin aster pinewood and a Mediterranean scrub will guarantee you a vast shady area for a jogging track, walking and resting, with hammocks, benches and tables. The whole is encircled by Tuscany cypresses, oleanders, lavender and plants in bloom. For those who would like to play in the silence of the hills, we have set a bowling green. and plants in bloom. |
