We loved our stay at San Benedetto. The Owner's made us feel very welcome and like part of their family. They could not have been nicer. The place is lovely, very accomodating. I would highly recommend it. It was very convenient for day trips around Tuscany.

One thing especially nice was that they had their own restaurant. People came from all over to have dinner at Casa Massi, their own restaurant.

Only two things. There was no air conditioning (or fans) and the temperature was over 95 every day. The other was that there appeared to be a meal plan (or possibly breakfast plan) that we were not aware of

I would say that it was warm and friendly. Had most everything you need, including two pools, laundry, evening dining, knowledgable manager and most generous. They had a lovely barbecue for all that were staying there one evening. It gave us all a chance to meet one another.

It was late and very dark. We had rung ahead and they were waiting for us at 9.00pm.
After a long day there arrival was most smooth and very welcoming.

The site was first class and very Tuscan. The owner,his wife and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The whole booking experience was first rate and having booked flight and car via the internet and been very satisfied, the stay at San Benedetto was most satisfying. Please pass on our thanks to the Masi family.
If there was one item that could improve the facility I would suggest a microwave oven as there was no oven in the apartment. Not that one was ever required but it may be useful for others who stay there.

The web site is very comprehensive. You could make even more of the fab Tuscan on site restaurant. Its very popular with locals who come from miles around. Its almost always fully booked. That shows you how good it is.

Rural, welcoming with facilities for sports, inc swimming and tennis.
A car is essential as its at least 25 mins away from a main attraction. San Gim and Volterra are 20 and 30kms away along roads which well surfaced but not fast. It is set in beautiful rolling countryside, with art, history and culture abounding everywhery. Take a good camera and paints, the light is fantastic and so are the sunsets.
The locals are very friendly. We are always happy to be away from the Brits. We will have a bash at Italian (and the locals love our pathetic attempts to speak Italian) but there is never a problem. We even had to make a visit to a doctor and he was excellent.
Its the perfect place to relax and unwind. It still has a sense of community and family life, and the overcrowding and fumes of GB are left well behind.

The best apartments are the ground floor ones, having a table in the garden was inconvenient when you are on the 2nd floor!

Everyone was extremely welcoming, it made us feel right at home right away. They took time to show us all the details and also had a table ready when we were for dinner. This was a prelude of how great our time there was.

It was confusing which entrance to take since there where multiple entrances. From the direction of Montaione there is no visible sign to Borgo San Benedetto 2.

You should state the price of the final clean so customers can bugdet. 65 Euros is fairly steep, when you have no idea how much it is going to be.

If they invite you to one of their BBQ's go they are fantastic. Mr and Mrs Masi couldn't do enough for us and the kids loved it. Casi Masi is held in high regard within the community and is used by a lot of locals proving its worth. ALL the staff are friendly and multi lingual. We loved it.

The room was lovely, the whole place was beautiful and full of atmosphere. They pay a lot of attention on details, there was not a single spot within the teritory that was not carefully treated with lots of taste and love.

The place was perfect, we had great time there, and Francesca, the receptionist, was lovely, kind and very helpful. She is available from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, every day, which is very helpful.
Within the property they run a beautiful restaurant, with excellent dishes and the best service.

Borgo San Benedetto was an exellent place for a vacation. The facilities are great, the managers/owners, and most of the staff were extremely welcoming.

my voucher stated that a 30% would be taken from my credit card prior to my stay. When I went to pay I was told that no money had been taken out of the account, (which was true) but I had no way of verifying this as I had been travelling for several weeks prior to arriving. This embarrased me infront of my companions and complicated an otherwise enjoyable trip.

I think that the web underplays the quality of the attached restaurant. it is one of the better restaurants in Tuscany. From the website I had expected something similiar to a cafe at a caravan park.

Borgo San Benedetto felt like our place within moments of putting our bags down. The pool and gardens are a tranquil place to relax after a hot day of exploration in Tuscany.

-- the outdoor space for each appartment is not as private as they say it is on the website (my bedroom looked out directly onto another appt's front door and I was caight several times undressing in front of strangers!)
-- there were a few things for kids that weren't emphasized, such as a huge garden to play in safe away from the road, bikes of all sizes to use for free and garden toys.
--I would have prefered to see the appartment I was renting on the website. There are lots of pictures, but none of my particular appt.
-- in general, I would have liked more information on the website. The brochure I received upon arrival, although in itlaian, clearly explained all the amenities with pictures and I wish I had gotten that before I booked.
--something that you cannnot get from the website is the friendliness of the place. The BBQ we were invited to by the owner was absolutely faboulous and we had a great time with him and some of his Italian friends who came to help. However, we only found out about it the day before and had to cancel plans in order to attend. Also, the restaurant is excellent, a really nice find, and if we had known a bit more about it over the web, we would have eaten there more often.

The directions were clear, although it was our first day of driving in Italy, and we had to learn how to follow the signs once we got off of the autostrade. We made a few wrong turns, although that was simply inexperience in reading signs. I would definitely recommend a very detailed map for anyone driving in that area.

Basically, it was as we expected, although the people made it exceptional. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. They really made us feel at home.

We were pleasantly surprised when they had a grillfest for everyone staying there. It was a great way to get to know the staff as well as others staying there. It was very casual, with everyone gathered around a big campfire and they provided a very nice dinner. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

The grounds are beautiful and the people delightful. We had a few frustrating days in Rome and were discouraged because we had no luggage, but when we arrived at Borgo San Benedetto, we felt as though we had come home. They even had a few gifts in the kitchen to help us get started, i.e. wine, oil & vinegar, pasta, coffee, etc. We loved the area and would highly recommend it.

We are greeted by Francesca, who was very delightful. She showed us the property, our flat, introduced us to the owners, gave us a tour of the restaurant, and even made reservations at the restaurant (Casa Masi) for us.

Pictures can never fully describe the experience of being in Tuscany. This is the second time staying in Tuscany, and the flat we had with the large and spacious grounds were fantastic. Next time we go, we will make sure the weather is warmer.

Mr & Mrs Masi were very welcoming and made us feel at home from the start. (All the other staff were great too!)

The atmosphere was wonderful, the surroundings were stunning. We made full use of the swimming pools, often having one to ourselves.
We thoroughly enjoyed the barbeques - great to meet the other guests and a very generous supply of food and drink.

Our flight was a late departure, we were allowed to vacate the apartment later than the stated checkout time and were told we could use the facilities for as long as we needed.

There is table tennis available (equipment supplied).
A food delivery can be ordered for your first morning.
Towels and bed linen are supplied.

There was no one there (initially), but that was because we arrived after opening hours of the reception. We went to the restaurant of the property and were then helped by the owner, who was very friendly. She called one of her employees, who arrived only minutes later.

We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was exactly as we had seen it on the website (beautiful, spaceous, clean and well-furnished). The first week we stayed on an appartment on the first floor. When we indicated that we wanted to move to the ground floor, the staff was very helpful and informed us about the availability, showed us two appartments, made sure the appartment was cleaned and there was even another bottle of wine to 'welcome'us.
Furthermore, there were extra's not mentioned on the website, like a weekly barbeque with free food and drinks, which we greatly appreciated. We also noted that the staff and owners were very helpful when one of their guests needed anything (the owner personally repaired a flat tire of one of the guests).
This is an accommodation that we would highly recommend to anyone!

We would have expected a Visitors book. A Visitors book is essential to provide unbiased reviews of sights to see and most importantly, restaurants/shops in the area.

Staff were not always in the office at the times specified and difficult to track down when needed.
It was also not made particularly easy to book any of the activities that we were advised were available, neither was it made very clear what the process was for this or where things were!

We had not been advised of the additional €60 that we were asked to pay upon check out for cleaning. Apparently this is a standard charge, however no where in the terms and conditions is this mentioned. The terms and conditions do state that the intial charge made for the room is a one of charge and includes all possible extras - this is not the case and is very misleading!

As a booking facility it was brilliant - booking was easy and the response was prompt. It made choosing somewhere to stay a painless experience.

Given the size of our apartment and the amenities, we felt that San Benedetto was an extremely good value. We were able to prepare meals easily, which allowed us to save money as compared to eating out for every meal.

Perfect! The grounds are beautiful, the apartment was modern, spacious, clean and very well equipped. The kids played in the pool while the adults could relax around the other pool. The restaurant is wonderful! Luciana and Sandro made us feel like family; we especially enjoyed the barbeque they hosted for all guests on Monday evening. We hope to return to San Benedetto soon.

This property is exactly as advertised so you won't be disappointed. The location is perfect for sightseeing anywhere within Tuscany and in particular Montaione is a wonderful small Italian village where you will be made to feel like a local no matter how short your stay might be. This property is highly recommended.

We arrived late having had a long coach journey afte a cancelled flight. The receptionist realised that we had not had anything to eat and immediately got us a tablet at the restaurant. We thought this was very considerate.

There was some confusion in the directions:
The directions led us to Casa MAsi which is the Restaurant and then we had to ask directions to the apartments at San Benedetto which is actually about 1/2 km up the road to a different driveway. you might want to add this to your website info.

It was perfect for a family with kids. Nice rooms, good facilities, nice grounds, etc. Probably not ideal for a romantic couple since there were lots of families with kids around (noisy?) but great for us!!
One thing that was MUCH better than on the website was the restaurant Casa Masi. I thought it would be a casual trattoria, but we found it to be a 4/5 star international quality restaurant with excellent service, food & wine, facilities, cleanliness etc. This really made our stay even better than we expected.

The system was a little more manual than expected. we had to pay for restaurant bill, apartment and groceries separately. Would have prefered it to be all itemized on one bill. They should integrate these different areas and create a computerized (not manual) invoice (like a hotel). We had a little trouble finding the receptionist at check out time and we were in a rush.

It is difficult to combine the appartment numbers with the photographs on the website.
Although I was satisfied with the appartment I expected another type with more space in the sitting room.
I would also suggest to remove or at least decrease the signs on the pictures, especially when I print them it is difficult to see details.

It as a great place to stay with a real Tuscany atmosphere. The owners are experts in decorating the place with lemontrees, plants and flowers and there is an excellent but not expensive restaurant 50 meters from your appartment. The owner is a member of Slow Food and buys only the best local food. We will be back in September.

We arrived by car from Pisa airport and once we were on the main motorway, found the directions easy to follow.

We were very pleased with our stay. The apartment, pools and gardens were kept very clean and tidy. Everyone made us feel very welcome but did not intrude on our privacy. There was a free BBQ provided once a week which was lovely. We were a little disappointed that our garden area was not very private as it was right outside the receptionist's office but it was not too much of a problem.

Whilst the restaurant was excellent for adults. My only comment would be that for families staying at the apartments, it would be helpful to have a small children's menu ie pastsa and pizza, but not so as to detract from the quality of the restaurant.

You should state that the private outside garden area for some apartments is not directly adjacent to the rooms ie you need to walk to it.
