The reason nobody was there to welcome us was that our arrival was later in the evening. Instructions to get our key and to get into our room were available.

We have stayed at other places in Tuscany. Salvadonica is the best of them. What distinguishes the property is the owners. Their property is extremely well maintained, the rooms are spacious and clean, the service is attentive and the grounds are beautiful. Most important, they care greatly about their guests.

One of the best places I have ever stayed at was as good as being at home or with friends. Excellent accomodation , great facilities, incredibly hospitable hosts and stunning setting. Great wine to top the list of compiments.

The Salvadonica was an absoulutely gorgeous place to stay. I only wish that we had had more time there. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about going there based upon one negative review I read about it on the web, but from the beginning of our stay to the end, I found our experience there to be altogether different from the one described. I would love to return there one day, as the one thing we lacked was sunshine!

It was later in the evening and she even provided a list of restaurants with a map and phone numbers and took the time to review them with us so we would get what we were looking for. She was wonderful !

Its hard to caputre how beautiful this property is. It was charming and there were so many places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or relax and enjoy the views. I think the website said internet access was not available but they do have internet access in the office for an hourly fee.

We checked out but stayed on the property through lunch and walked the grounds and played bocci. It was very relaxes and we never felt rushed. They were so pleasant -we thouroughly enjoyed our time there

The staff at Salvadonica was very welcoming and accommodating, explaining the services and and products available. We were able to view two different rooms that were available during our stay and choose our preference.

The property and proprietors of Salvadonica were delightful. Everyone was very accommodating, informed and helpful. They provided excellent dining and sightseeing suggestions. The breakfasts were very pleasant. The grounds and pool were wonderful - beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. Our room was simple but completely comfortable. We would love to return to Salvadonica.
Also, Salvadonica is not only located in a spectacular hillside site with lovely villages nearby on either side, but is so conveniently located to facilitate all the day trips to all the wonderful Tuscan sites.
One general question based on all the placs we stayed in Italy during our 2 week visit, why are there no screens on windows in Italy?

The only issue were the directions. The signage for the property from San Casciano was quite confusing. In fact, Francesca had to talk several of the party to the property via their cell phone. One of the couples had to be met at the bottom of the hill, where the sign for Mercatle points to the right (towards the Piscina) instead up the hill.

We had 32 people in our party -- which was a party too. The only complaint that I have is that I was charged $300 euros extra for cleaning because we had such a large group. I think that I should have received a discount for such a large group, but in fact we were penalized.

Franchesca was extremely nice and accomodating. We could not have asked for more. We actually thought we had arrived in heaven!

The only negative was that neither the television nor the PC in the lounge area worked and the individual rooms have access to neither. Not having them in the room was fine but we would have liked to have had better access to the outside world through the electronics in the lounge (common area).

Absolutely a gorgeous facility with a great staff, wonderful food and fantastic views. It's a great place from which to explore Florence and Tuscany... you do need a car though.

My family and I were 'high maintenance' guests -- my husband was ill and needed more heat, then less heat, a doctor, etc. The proprietors were extremely helpful in each case.
Images on the Web site, and even in Salvadonica's own brochure, don't really show how beautiful the property is -- the views are incredible, and you don't really get that from the site. Maybe you just have to see it in person...

A beautiful, very comfortable (the beds and linens were great) place with spectacular views, great location for day trips, friendly and helpful proprietors, wonderful breakfast.

Because of a flight delay the reception was closed when we arrived, but there were very clear instructions left, for how to get to our room!

The photos could have been better! The room we stayed in was very nice and despite that not shown! The view is also excellent and almost nothing is referred (except a photo with the tennis-court!)

Salvadonica was fantastic. The accomodations were very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing restaurant recommendations and making reservations for us. The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful. The location is also close to many of the towns/sights we intended to visit. Had we known how much we would have enjoyed staying at Salvadonica, we would have extended our stay. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Tuscany area.
