I only stayed one night at Villa Rosa. It's a good place to use as a base to explore Chianti. It's also very close to Florence and Siena. Its nature environment and warm hospitality make me want to stay longer.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way many times to accomodate us and make our stay the best possible. The Villa itself is wonderful and the views breathtaking. I would recommend anyone who travels to Italy to stay here and plan myself to go back as soon as possible. Thank you for everything!

We had an early morning train and were unaware that we could not check out until staff came on at 9 AM. ... Vey peaceful, beautiful setting (loved the scented gardens) and close to towns for exploring.

Villa Rosa was an absolutely delightful place to stay. The villa is in wonderful condition on a quiet road, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Breakdfast and dinner are served on a lovely terrace behind the house. Make sure you eat dinner at Villa Rosa during your stay. We would most definitely return and recommend others to stay there as well.

We just spent 3 weeks in Italy, staying in 6 different places along the way. My wife and I both agreed Villa Rosa was our favorite; so much that we told her father to stay there for a few night before he returned to the US.

We loved our room with the terrace. The shower was a bit small, but the rest of the accommodations were quite lovely and comfortable. ... no--all was as stated. ... A lovely villa with spacious, comfortable rooms and a friendly owner. It is in a remote area with picturesque villages and lovely scenery. I would recommend it highly for a retreat.

Very easy to find, very warm and gracious welcome from owner. ... Rooms at front of house are noisier because house is right on the road. If you value absolute quiet, ask for room not on front. ... Lovely, warm, gracious. Very comfortable. Highly recommend if looking for a place to stay in Chianti. Great location for seeing the sights in Radda, Greve, etc.

The breakfast could improve. The receptionist was very helpful and courteous giving us directions about the area, and even supplied us with maps. ... It is a beautiful, nice and neat place, and in a good location. ... I would definitely recommend the place to stay. Not so sure about staying in summer, because there is no air conditioning in the rooms.

The room was terrific but located on the top floor. My wife has difficulty climbing stairs, and since there is no elevator, our room was changed the next morning to a more easily accessible location. ... Very enjoyable in a beautiful location in the countryside. We also enjoyed an wonderful dinner at the hotel on our first night and the restaurant recommendations by Stefano and Sabina were excellent. Terrific hotel and staff--well worth the visit! ... Breakfast served on the patio makes the guests interact in a warm, friendly venue. Hotel also offers access to guidebooks to locations and attractions in the area and in Florence. ... Quiet and friendly country villa that offers quick and easy access to Panzano, Volpaia, Greve and Castellina.

The arrival was very warm and helpful. ... It was absolutely wonderful. I would stay again in a heartbeat. The staff and the place were fabulous. ... The (optional) dinner that was served was terrific. Very friendly in a low-key sort of 'country' way. ... This is a comfortable, friendly, and elegantly rustic hotel. The rooms were quiet, spacious, beautiful and comfortable, yet simple. The setting and surroundings were beautiful. We could have stayed for days. Stay for dinner - the food is fabulous Tuscan 'home cooking'. (Dinner was only E20 + wine. A bargain!)

We arrived later than anticipated and it was dark and rainy so it was nice to have someone there to greet us. ...
Spacious villa with a lot of character. We were the only ones at the hotel so had the place to ourselves. Our room and bed were very large which was great since we had our 3-year old with us. ...
The staff helped us confirm our next accomodations in Umbria - which was nice. ...
Just like you would imagine a villa in Tuscany would be like.

Pretty, spacious rooms with lovely views of the surrounding hills. The staff really make you feel at home - had a great recommendation for the little Osteria down the road! As with most Tuscan villas, you do hear a bit of noise from people in nearby rooms opening/closing their doors, but very peaceful overall. ... Charming Tuscan villa

The optional dinner is highly recommendable. The rooms facing the road can be noisy. ... A beautifully restored villa with a remarkable 'familiy atmosphere'.

From Siena, the road sign only says 'Radda' -- it doesn't say 'Lucarelli.' So the directions should specify 'Radda' or 'Lucarelli and Radda.' ... The door to the bathroom needs to be adjusted -- it drags severely on the floor. ... very professional ... good location to Panzano, nice views from the windows. It was raining when we were there, but the pool looked nice. Breakfast was good.

Coming in from the A1, the directions are not clear when nearing Greve that you must actually turn left and head for Lucarelli. ... I know the property is old, but the shower was poor in pressure and volume. Even worse was that the drain kept backing up so one would shower in standing dirty water. ... We paid the night before and this was a wise decision to facilitate an early departure. ... Dining was excellent.
Since the hotel is located in one of the world's premier wine regions, it should be encouraged to bring the wine you have purchased at a local winery to either dinner or the lounge area. It was not permitted. Very strange. ... Despite my criticisms, I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends. The drains do need to be cleared and a more wine friendly policy should be implemented.

The only thing I would say about the staff was that some of them were a little serious, not over friendly and even when we asked we were given very little information about things to do nearby or anything. This may have been due to the language barrier perhaps. ... lovely setting, good location for visiting places, but the people were not overly friendly. 4 course meal very nice, but breakfast of bread, crossiants (which were overdone/burnt on some days) got a bit boring.

I was disappointed in our reception. We had 4 bags between the 2 of us. When I asked if they had a cart to use to get from the parking lot the receptionist said 'No this is not a 5 star resort, but we can help you.' Then someone helped us up the 40 steps with 1 bag and then disappeared.
We had a difficult time finding the villa so it was just after dark when we arrived. We were told that it was easy to see the pink building, but that is not true after dark. It would have been more helpful to know that the building is 2 ft. from the road with a parking lot across the street.
After we put our bags down and went down stairs to the outdoor dinning area in hopes of eating the sandwiches we had brought the receptionist was gone. No one offered us any assistance so we went into the kitchen to get glasses for ourselves. There was none of that wonderful Italian hospitality that we so love there.Breakfast was the same with no warmth. The first 2 days we got instant coffee until I realised that I could get cappicino if I asked.
My husband said that it was 3 days before the proprietor spoke to him. Finally when he made quite an effort to be friendly she responded positively. We so missed the hospitality that we received elsewhere.
It is also noisy because the front rooms face the street so you hear the trucks going by and the back rooms, which are better, have the outdoor dining area below that can be distrubing since one needs to keep the windows open. My biggest complaint though is the lack of hospitality. ... It would be helpful to know that the villa is right on the street or 1 or 2 ft. from it and that the parking lot is accross the street from the building. ... I would not stay there again. I would rather be in a villa that is set back from the road.
