By Plane
The airports placed closer to the property are the ones at Siena, Pisa and Florence. This variety enables the guest to find a flight easily reaching the area, either if he/she is coming from abroad or from some other location inside Italy. The terminal in Siena is placed around 50 kilometres from the Residenza; meanwhile, Peretola airport in Florence is 133 kms away from the inn.
By Car
From Ampugnano, where Siena`s airport is located, you must take road SS73 and drive towards GROSSETO/ AREZZO/ PERUGIA/ A1/ ROMA. Get off at the exit for Siena Sud/ SS2/ Cassia and continue along SP6 and turn right in SR2. Get off at the exit for Monterini d`Arbia Sud and you will arrive in San Quirico D'Orcia. Here, stay on Via Cassia till number 1 (55 minutes driving).
At Peretola, you must get on road A11/E76 and then A1/E35 towards "Roma/ Firenze/ Signa". Take the exit for "Firenze/ Certosa" and you will come to a roundabout where you must go along the first exit, RA3. Drive towards SIENA/ COLLE DI VAL D'ELSA/ POGGIBONSI/ GROSSETO and get off at the exit for AREZZO/GROSSETO/ SIENA/ ACQUA CALDA. Follow the signs for Siena Sud/ SS2/ Cassia and do as already described (1 hour 50 minutes).
By Train
There is no railway station in San Quirico: the nearest one is in Buonconvento (20 km) and there is another in Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (40 km). The owners of the Residenza always suggest to rent a car, as it is the best choice to visit the area, however taxi and buses are available too. |
