 The Residenza is a very good point of departure to visit wonderful cities as Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Pienza, Cortona and Montepulciano. The beauty and the colours of the landscape, the elegance of the Residenza and the delicious cuisine of the Restaurant create a fascinating location where celebrating small ceremonies and special days. |
 A Great Story:
Born as a free town, it was allied with Siena's Republic, from which it received support and protection in the centenary fight with Florence's Republic and its allies. After the Florence's victory, with the help of emperor Carlo V, it passed under Medici's family domination and, in 1777, joined to Sinalunga town by Grand Duke Leopoldo. |
 Here you can find the memory of the age: the civic tower and the bridge house (Cassero), the fortification walls remains, one tower dating back to 1100, in the Residenza, and another smaller one in the opposite square.The round geometry of the town, the alleys and the doors protecting the entrances are the original ones. In the center of the town there is the church of S. Biagio, built in the 13th century. Each year, in August, Scrofiano becomes the heart of the event "Goblet under the stars", during which guests can taste valuable wines. |
