Arrival was very easy, especially considering how complex the route was and our unfamiliarity with Italian roads and roadsigns. We were greeted with warmth, humor, and welcome.

This stay exceeded our expectations--the apartment and the grounds were exceptional, the hosts delightful, the pool, the facilities, and the breakfast were outstanding, and in every respect it was superb.

I suspect the portrayal of the place could be more positive. The rare high quality of both the houses and the setting seem to me to be understated in the web materials. Maybe a couple of pictures taken of the pool with the valley behind it would be good. Also--the town of Castiglione-Fiorentino is truly charming, and I would include a picture of it on the web page. Also--clarify that Casa P. is well off the main roads. We worried that it was too close to the highway, since the maps of Tuscany suggest that there are a lot of large roads nearby.

Potagioia is a rare and delightful place that is so charming it is difficult to leave in order to undertake planned side-trips. It is nestled near the end of a rural agricultural valley replete with field of sunflowers and corn, olive groves and Tuscan forest, and affords views of the valley and the mountains. The apartments and rooms are all we could ask for in decoration, detail, and upkeep, and the grounds feature sumptuous lavender and other flowers. The hosts are welcoming, generous with their time and information, and have made Portagioia the best stop on our three week trip through Italy. It receives our highest praise and recommendation!

The staff were excellent hosts, providing lots of helpful advice about the area, arranging restaurant reservations and vineyard tour. We were delighted with our accomodations and would highly recommend.

A delightful retreat in the heart of Tuscany, a good base for exploring the entire area. I would consider basing my next trip to Italy here.

Owner was very witty and put us at ease instantly. There was no gushing or fake welcome. Very chilled.

A chilled out experience. Away from all the noise and fuss of life. A great location for day trips. Beautiful pool over looking the hills. Service was exactly right, friendly, gracious, but not overbearing and very sincere.

Wonderful! We were shown to our room and welcomed by our host Terry, who explained the location of the important items (pool, welcome drink) and also the timing for breakfast.

It was absolutely perfect!! Casa Portagioia in itself was great and Terry and Marcello only make the experience that much better and fun. The accomodations were outstanding, food wonderful and hosts a delight.

A perfect place for relaxing in the Tuscany Hills. Terry and Marcello are wonderful and fun hosts and very knowledgable about sights to see and hikes to take. The Casa P. is splendid, inside and out. Our room was nicely decorated and the bed was awesome. The grounds were beautiful and the pool perfectly situated for gazing over the countryside. Breakfasts were healthy, delicious and lovely. We extended our stay we loved it so much!

We were picked up at the train station in Castiglion Fiorentino by our host. Arriving in the rural area was more difficult than I had imagined but by Terry picking us up we had a first journey to the property which allowed us to know from then on. Both he arnd Marcello are very warm and welcoming hosts.

The photos while accurate cannot encompass the surroundings all at once. This is a bit unfortunate as the entire property is stunningly beautiful.

Only comment is that it was difficult to leave Casa Portagioia, we had a perfect stay.

How I have already described it is that while in Tuscany I would not stay anywhere else. I think that having such an incredibly good time with fantastic hosts would make me not want to venture to another facility. I am sure that here are others that are wonderful but I will not go anyplace other than Casa Portagioia

Marcello could not have been more gracious and
welcoming.

We were extremely pleased and delighted with
our stay at Casa Portagioia. This B&B was
outstanding. I was not aware of cooking
courses offered on site or bicycle rentals,
however, we would not have taken advantage of
the bicycle rentals in any event. I don't
think it's possible to convey by photographs
how you feel when you are there. Waking up
in the morning to the beautiful countryside
with a wonderful breakfast awaiting with
helpful, informative, English speaking hosts
was priceless.
