| Many guests enjoy a walk around the grounds or up into the hills adjacent to us. Some are more ambitious and take to their bikes and explore the area under their own steam. There are places near Casa Portagioia by where you can experience horse-riding. At about 15 minutes driving distance there is Cortona, a truely stunning hillside town. Here there are many churches and museums along with shops and places of entertainment. Here you will find a greater number of restaurants ranging from family run tratorria to elegant dining. Arezzo is also about 15 minutes away and offers shops and markets specialized in antiques. There are many museums, churches and places of interest in Arezzo which was the setting for the magical film "Life is Beautiful". |
