It was great!
I send my booking just the day we arrived.
We got our confirmation by the cellphone. Everything worked out PERFECT!
We used our GPS in the car to get to Porrona and then it was very easy to find the sign to the castle.

Apart from one guy, the restaurant manager, nobody spoke english - It was therefore very differcult to communicate. Even at reception. I believe now though that this is general in Italy!! Maybe you could recomend visitors to take a Italian-English dictionary, it would have been useful!
As I tryed to tell them, it would be nice if they had netting at the windows to keep out the many insects, especially in the summer when the only cool breeze comes from an open window. We actually misunderstood your notes about heating - we presummed the rooms were air-conditioned, so it was a bit of a shock.

Very enjoyable, exellent food, a romantic get away and it was like living 50 years ago.

It was sunday and we had no way of getting to Castle Perona, with a phone call, they were more than happy to drive all the way to Grosseto to pick us up. Way above the call of duty!!

We had a wonderful time. All the staff treated us like family and were very good to us. We would definitely go back.

Check out was easy and fast. We felt like we were leaving family.

Friendly courteous staff. Excellent food and wine available at the restaurant, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. First class accomodation. Beautiful scenery.

It was outstanding. the best place we stayed in Italy and would definitely go back again. How can you compare a castle nestled in the hills of Tuscany with all the amenities and staff that treats you like family.

A nice spot, but unfortunately all of the facilities, such as swimming pool and tennis courts, were shut up for the season.

Remoteness - not a problem but should be recognised.
Availability of things to do in the area.

Very rural and tranquil. A beautiful spot. Excellent food and wine, with clean, good accommodation. Not that much to do.

There could have been some information of where the several facilities where located atthe castel and some information of activities to do nearby.

We did have a very good stay in castel Poronna. The standard was as expected, except for the swimming pool. We expected a better maintance of the pool (i.e. water cleaning)for such a place. There sould not be (sunshade) parasol lying in the swimming pool. We had also expected that litter was picked up immedialteliy and not lying around for a day or two.
