A breakfast buffet with typical home-made cakes is served in a large room with fireplace at ground floor. A beautiful and new swimming pool is available from June till September. There is the possibility to use all the common spaces outside and inside, to read, to relax, to walk or to have dinner with barbecue. |
Trekking's way, cycling's way and private wood are at our guests disposal. Bed and bathroom linen changed daily (if one room is occupied for more than one night, the linen will be changed each three days). There is a careful cleaning every change's guest which is included int he price. There is a private parking. |

Sovicille rises on oriental slants of Montagnola Senese and has had a considerable role in Republic of Siena's history. One of the most important monument of Sovicille is Pieve di Ponte allo Spino (San Giovanni Battista, 800 meters far), a Romanesque church with nave and two aisles and adjacent the cloister's remains of Gothic's rectory. It's impossible to list all the castles, palaces, little churches, towers, the important historic installations which shower the Sovicille's territory, into the labyrinth of Montagnola's woods and on the lowland's slopes (Montarrenti, Palazzo al Piano, Brenna, Torri, Simignano, San Giusto a Balli, Pernina and many other). Each of these places can be purpose for pleasing walking but also to know the territory's history and the people who live there. The last mention for the river Merse, which is one of the most beautiful of region, while the torrent Farma runs along a very important naturalistic zone. In every seasons of the year, these waters are attended by fishermans and on summer by a bather's crowd.
Places to visit in Sovicille - Pieve di San Giovanni Battista: Baptismal church of the ancient Siena 's diocese, the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista, or Pieve di Ponte allo Spino, was built from XII and XIII century by monks of Torri. The structure of the church is with nave and two aisles divided by columns with capitals and terminal apses. Inside it conserves a fourtheenth-century Madonna of Senese's school. - Abazia di Santa Mustiola: It's an ancient monastic foundation of XII century. Actually used as villa-farm, conserves a beautiful quadrangular cloister with three superimposed orders : the ground order is Romanesque with arches sustained by pilasters; the median order is built with big octagonal pilasters; and the superior order is Renaissance with wood's columns. - Ancaiano: It's situated inside Montagnola Senese, it's an ancient village of Etruscan 's origin and it's native's place of Baldassarre Peruzzi (1481-1536),a famous architect and painter. Inside this village there is a seventheenth-century parochial church which contains pictures of XIV-XV century and a medieval tower englobed into a farmhouse. - Eremo di Rosia: It's situated near a medieval bridge, called Ponte della Pia. The church, entitled to holy Antonio and Luca, was probably built with only nave's system but today is remained only the presbytery's and external wall's part.Also the ancient monastic sides next to the church are let run wild. - Museo Etnografico del Bosco: It's been recently inaugurated with a new equipment. This museum is divided in three sections : an expositive part which documents the traditional working activities, also with audiovisual material; a didactic laboratory and the signalling of some itineraries to know the wood and ancient productive structures, today abandoned. - Pieve di Pernina: It's situated in Montagnola Senese and it's 2 Km away from Cetinale. The ancient Romanesque building, immersed in a dense ilex's wood and presents a simple architectonical style. The religious building has a big bell tower in front of the face. - Pieve di Rosia: It's a Romanesque church and it was built with nave ant two aisles divided by quadrangular pilasters. The actual face was in origin the terminal part of the church, which was changed of orientation in XIV century. There is a beautiful church tower :a bell tower- with modern battlements, is built in Lombard style with window with one -two-three-four light. - Pieve di San Giusto a Balli It's situated at nord-east of Sovicille, on the right of the torrent Serpenna . This ancient Romanesque church was in origin with nave and two aisles, then was rebuilted with bricks and clear stone. At the end of the central nave there is a big apse, belonged to a previous early-Romanesque building. |
