Beatrice was very welcoming, provided us with drinks, and had a long chat with us advising us on what we could do in the region ... We could not have been happier with our choice of farm-stay accommodation. Great pool with a view over the vineyards, olive groves, hills and castles. Fantastic atmosphere and so relaxing. ... Only that there is no road sign pointing to Poggio alle Lame from the main road. You have to look out for the narrow, gravel road called Strada alle Lame. There is a sign eventually on this road, but it is right next to the actual farmhouse itself where the owners live. We rang the bell in there (which many people must do by mistake) instead of progressing another 300m to the actual accommodation. This is a small thing, but would make finding the place initially easier if the sign posting and instructions were a little clearer. ... Fantastic, relaxing, great atmosphere, great pool, great rooms and facilities, great hostess in Beatrice. If like us, you want to cater and cook for yourself, local supermarket is nearby and the cooking facilities are good (if you choose a self-catering apartment). Otherwise if you want to eat dinner in the bistro, each day there is a set 'menu de giorno' representing authentic Tuscan country-style cooking.
Wonderful place. Just book it!!! We hope to go back one day.
