Very pleasant indeed: obviously, great effort had been taken to welcome us - with fresh flowers in a vase on the table, and a welcoming letter with much useful accompanying information on the local sights, recommended restaurants and vineyards etc. ... Wonderful: the family maintained the correct balance between friendly and yet leaving us to our own devices and with our privacy. ... A beautiful retreat ideally located to explore Florence, the Chianti area, San Gim. and Siena.

Francesca very helpful and always prepared to offer any assistance required. ... Enjoyed everything about our stay very much - only slight concern was the very rough condition of the unmade track leading up to Il Pintello - just fill in and level out some of the potholes! ... Very efficent no problems at all. ... Very impressed with the accommodation it provided the ideal basis for an extremely good holiday. I would strongly recommend Il Pintello to anybody wanting to experience the beauty and enchantment of Tuscany

Being new to Italy, I emailed Francesca, and she provided excellent directions from the Piza Airport. ... We spent 3+weeks in Italy, and our accomodations at Il Pintello was by far the best! Not only was our Apartment great, but the Francesca went above and beyond the call to make us comfortable. ... I feel the WEB Site does a good job of describing the facilities. ... The grounds where Il Pintello is located are beautiful, and the Apartment is clean, nicely furnished, and thoughtfully decorated. The staff is very hospitable, and the next time I am in Northern Italy, I'll stay the entire time @ Il Pintello, and use it as a home base.

Map directions were not so clear. Direction details were obtained from another website.
Very impressed with the accomodation on arrival and were met by very friendly and helpful staff ... Excellent accomodation. Very clean, good facilities, lots of little extras (fresh flowers, basic food stuff provided) beautiful surroundings. Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were wonderful and very welcoming and helpful. Problems: - lots of mosquitoes in Casa Pettini. Repellent essential!! - kept awake one night with the dog barking - very warm without airconditioning in Casa Petini. How about some electric fans (particularly in the front bedroom which was very hot at night) ...
Staff were very helpful with checking out and allowing use of accomodation or facilities for late departure. Very helpful in giving directions to airport. ...
More information on local supermarkets and tips on what to see in the surrounding countryside.
Strongly recommend airconditioning and mosquito repellents in summer. ...
Beautiful views, wonderful accomodation, excellent service, very helpful and friendly staff. Recommend airconditioning in the summer.

Even though the directions were clear in retrospect, we had a hard time finding Il Pintello. Having flown into Italy quite late and being completely jetlagged, then navigating driving on the wrong side of the road for the first time, plus it was raining and dark, it was very easy to miss the small town of Milino Di Sugana (which consists of about four buildings) and then the brick columns of Il Pintello's driveway that were tucked into the side of the road. There is also a confusing 'Private Property' sign. It's only when you get to the top of the extremely steep and narrow driveway that the Il Pintello sign can be seen. ... We loved the beautifully decorated self-contained accommodation -with all the creature comforts and a breathtaking view of Tuscan hillsides from every window. We found that Francesca, our hostess, was friendly and always very helpful. The bocce court was a pleasant way to pass a few hours in the evenings while drinking some local wine and eating olives by the dozen, the pool was fabulous and there were other activities nearby, such as visiting an organic vineyard for winetasting, horseriding and a colourful and interesting local market. The biggest surprise was how close the property was to all the towns we wanted to visit. Florence is only 15 mins away, and all the must-see medieval villages such as Certaldo, Sam Gimignano and even Arezzo and Cortona are easily accessible. ... It is very rare to find anyone who speaks english in the area, so best to take a phrasebook with you. Also, it was only after enquiring about our safety in the woods surrounding Il Pintello that we were told to stick to the road - hunting is a very popular activity on most days of the week. ... We were looking for the quintessential Tuscan experience and Il Pintello was definitely it. The property is straight out of one of the many movies featuring Tuscany -it's absolutely beautiful - and with the accommodation being in the middle of a working farm complete with vineyards, olive trees and a wood where you often come across (friendly) hunters searching for their evening meal, it was easy to feel as though we too were living the Tuscan life. If you're looking for a place to unwind and totally immerse yourself in the Tuscan way of life, Il Pintello is it.

Prior to our arrival I was not aware that our aggred accomodation 'Il Moscardino' was the bottom floor of a house. I had assumed form the picture and description that it was a stand alone villa. It had two apartments on the top floor above us and they were very noisy. The plumbing made lots of noise and you could hear every footstep above and in the main bedroom of Il Moscardino we could hear people using the bathroom and toilet above us. This made it less pleasant. The pool was also unavailable which was unfortunate but we did enjoy our stay. The only other comment is that the villa could do with more lounge seating. It has two chairs only in the living area. ... That Il Moscardino is semi detached in that it is on the bottom floor with two apartments above. ... Peaceful, authentic, well equipped and perfectly located to explore the Tuscany region of Italy.
