The only difficulty we had in locating the property was at the turn off to La Pieve from the San Stefano road. The road sign had the name of Tognetti which did not register in our minds because we were expecting to see a sign for La Pieve. The sign for La Pieve that was on the post was much too small and faded making it very difficult to notice when driving. Otherwise, all other road instructions were clear.

It would have been helpful if the information sheet that was provided in the apt. was written in English.

The stretch of road just off of San Stefano could use a little patch work.

It was like home away from home. On arrival a nice welcome gift of food and wine was provided for the guest to enjoy.
The distance from town was just right. Shops and restuarants kept visits to the town interesting and the variety of shops also made Montaione a good place to shop not only for everyday needs but for gift items as well.

ALL the TV channels had German programmes on - and there were so many of them!It would have been helpful to have
a)a mainstream Italian channel to get a feel for the country
b)an international English-language news channel so tht we would not be completely cut off from world events.

It would have been helpful if we had had some more notice about settling the bills on the Friday morning. Our day-trip to Florence was delayed by a couple of hours because we had to wait for the office to open on Friday morning. Perhaps there could be a system of leaving the bill in the room and pay in a sealed envelope?

T10 was private and self contained but close enough to all the facilities to give us everything we were looking for. We enjoyed staying there and would certainly use it again.

Once again this year there was a lack of sun loungers at the poolside
Could do with a few more facilities such as table tennis table or football table
Also ? football pitch/ open ground

Quiet location although situated close enough to the town to access restaurants/icecream parlours by foot for those reasonable fit.
Overall feeling of space and lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

Linnen change after a week was een very pleasant surprise which we weren't aware of and what's certainly very good service.

Surrounded by chianti vineyards and breathtaking views I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a nice and quiet place to stay, ideally located to visit the rest of Tuscany's treasures.

During my stay I slept on three different mattresses. They were all well worn and uncomfortable and needed replacing. If they had been comfortable, the stay would have been first class.

Advise that all shops are closed on Sunday and between 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. the rest of the week.

In some areas there were bad smells from the drains - some people had their seating areas there. We didn't and would not have been pleased to have to put up with the smell if we wanted to eat outside.

Tranquil, peaceful in beautiful countryside. A short walk from a town with shops, banks etc. The accomodation was generally well fitted out.

When we arrived the was noone on reception that could speak English which made it a bit tricky but we managed to work our way through it.

Situated in perfect scenery amongst wineries and olive groves close to the lovely village of Montaione with surrounding areas of Siena, Florence and San Gimiano easily accessible. Excellent outdoor eating.

The pool area was better than described.
The apartment T21 was good except for the bath-room, which was very small.The nearness to the wonderful village Montaione was great. They had put wine in the apartments which you could pay when you left. It was great.

I would describe it positive. The week we stayed was not fully booked so we could use the outdoor area for ourselves.

No one there upon arrival but there was a note in our unit. It was not a problem.

The web site said facilities included cooking courses. They had a guide in our room with info on where to find cooking courses and other services. It was not a big deal but it shouldn't be listed as something they have.

They had a 'Tuscan' dinner for all guests on Wednesday nights. It was the highlight of our two week trip.

while the web photos were critical to making our choice they would have been more helpful if they were labelled by apartment.

Great location, wonderful hosts, charming village. A wonderful place for relaxing and enjoying the simple and natural joys. It was hot with no airconditioning and no fans so be prepared to slow down, swim to cool off, and get into the rhythym of the daily siesta. Well located for day trips to sites and the sea.

Property was 'tired', small bathroom with
out decent shower, which was 2 wall-hung
screens needing opening/closing every time,
unsuitable for families. Expected Kitchen/
dinner to be bigger. Nowhere to sit indoors
except kitchen chairs, a sofa would be
useful and more comfortable to lounge.

Only one serious complaint: the web-site mentions a children's pool, this turned out to be 90 cm deep without any steps! Therefore totally unsuited for small children who cannot yet swim. In our case the presence of a children's pool had been an important criterion to choose La Pieve.
A minor complaint concerns the poor quality of the beds. On the other hand the view was even better then expected.

We were informed by note on Friday morning to arrange our checkout and/or settle outstanding bills by same Friday noon at the latest, as nobody would be available on the Saturday, i.e. the real check-out day. No problem as such, but should have been announced earlier.

The indication on the road to the property is not clear(directio, KM distance), especially difficult to see it at night - this is a general problem in the area
