By car from Florence: Exit the A1 highway at "Firenze-Certosa" and head towards Siena. At Siena take highway SS223 south in the direction of Grosseto. Approximately 35km after Siena, you will pass over a long bridge followed by a long straight tunnel. Immediately after leaving the tunnel, exit the highway to the right at the exit marked "Casal di Pari". Turn left as you come off the exit ramp and follow the signs to Monte Antico and "La Pievanella Country Inn".
By car from from Rome/Pisa/Grosseto: Head north on highway SS223 in the direction of Siena. Exit the highway approximately 22km after Grosseto at the exit marked "Paganico" following the signs to La Pievanella County Inn and Monte Antico. From Paganico head in the direction of Monte Amiata. 3 km after Paganico, turn left direction "Petriolo / Monte Antico" and 1 km later turn right direction Monte Antico. At the end of the village of Monte Antico, turn left up the hill and continue, always on the paved road, approx. 9 km to La Pievanella.
By Train: The Monte Antico station is located on the Florence - Empoli - Siena - Grosseto train line and is only 5km from the farm. Upon request, we can arrange transport to La Pievanella Country Inn by car from the Monte Antico station. If you are coming from Florence, you will likely need to change in Empoli or Siena. Trains from Rome or Pisa change in Grosseto. |
