It would have been very helpful to know how far the hotel was from Castellina in Chianti and the state of the road!

Le Paizze is beautiful! The gorgeous setting, attention to detail and the warm service provided by the staff make it the perfect vacation spot.

Castellina in Chianti is very close to Florence - there is a great deal to explore in the area which makes Le Piazze a great home base from which to explore Italy!

My wife entered into a discussion with the receptionist about an adapter for her American hair dryer. The proprietor bellowed out from the back office that my wife must not use her American hair dryer, but that they would provide one. The proprietor never came out to talk to her face to face, and we never got the hair dryer! This upset my wife.

We enjoyed our stay there so much that we extended for a total of five nights from an original plan of only 2 nights.
We were a little disappointed in the food. The breakfasts were monotonous - exactly the same five days in a row - bread, rolls, cheese, cold cuts, fruit, juice, yogurt, and boiled eggs. The one dinner we had there was not as good as what we had at any of the nearby restaurants.
The receptionist was very helpful in suggesting and making outside dinner reservations.
The staff were very nice!
The grounds are excellent for quiet relaxation.
Other guests were very friendly and sociable. We made friends there easily, and often would talk to our new friends over a glass of wine well into the night.
The proprietor was friendly and sociable to all guests in the dining hall. She recommended four self-directed tours of the area for us.

We were utterly enchanted with the place and the kindness and service of the staff. It is a spectacular spot and we enjoyed the garden and the pool. The directions are a little difficult to follow and need careful thought getting out of Poggibonsi...I wonder whether one or two more 'Locanda' signs on the road might be wise? Then you wouldn'thave to suggest watching out for the rather curious Alex ones! Cheers PETER SNOW

We actually got a better deal, 2 rooms with
baths instead of 1 triple with 1 bath. The
rooms were big and lovely, beautiful
furniture and a lot of space. We had a grass
yard to ourselves facing the sunsets and
table and chairs on the patio for snacking.
It was fantastic. Very quiet country location
except for a barking dog (in the middle of
the night), apparently a dog belonging to the
owners of the property. Easy to fix: keep her
inside at night!

Picturesque wine country setting with great
views. Beautiful, spacious rooms. Good
breakfast including eggs and bran cereal (very
important)! A bit of a drive from nearby
towns, but not difficult to find once you've
been over the roads once.

Tuscany like shown in movies: the hotel is situated in a beautiful restored farmhouse, located on a quiet hill, surrounded by a landscape of grapevines and olive trees. The rooms are perfect and the breakfast and dinners are superb. The only disadvantage: the place is so beautiful you would like to keep it to yourself!

I had a great vist 8 years ago and again this year. The property is just as wonderful. We were there just as they were beginning their season so it was very quiet and they were not serving dinners yet. We were aware of that when we booked.
