Daniela was waiting for us at the hotel after we had called on arriving in Siena and parking our car. She was very helpful about finding a cab to bring us to the hotel and was so friendly and warm. She gave us a GREAT recommendation for dinner nearby and was over-all a terrific host. ... The owner went out of her way to assist us with a parking problem for our rental car. Without her taking the time to talk to the police, our car would have been towed for a football game the day following our arrival. She was also very helpful about directing us on our way out of Siena. ... Fabulous location - could not have been better! The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Only two very small notes - there was no soap for the shower; we had to move the bottle of hand soap into the shower to use there. Also, and possibly Americans are spoiled, but we would have very much appreciated some disposable drinking cups in the bathroom for toothbrushing, etc. As I said, VERY small things, but would have improved our stay.

If you want to feel like you have your own private appartment in the centre of historic Siena then Palazzo Masi is for you. I really felt like I was 'living' in Siena rather than just being a mere tourist, even if my stay was only for the weekend. It was so close to the centre and the restaurant recommendations were great.

We took a taxi so we weren't relying on directions. The B&B is family owned and Daniella was there to welcome us graciously. ... One thought is that the hotel is called Palazzo Masi B&B, which to me tranlates into Bed & Breakfast. We did get breakfast, but it wasn't included in the overall price, which generally is the case. ... Well done. Great location. Very hospitable hosts/owners. A real treat. ... A true Sienese living accomodation with great proximity to the Campo and City attractions.

Daniela was very helpful in giving us some tips on where to dine, sites of interest to visit, provided us with maps and other useful information. ... We stayed at Palazzo Masi at the end of June when the heat was getting to be unbearable. Even though it was clear that there was no air conditioning, we could have used some fans. Leaving the windows open was not always a good option due to the noise on the street. ... The rooms are located in the second and third levels of the building, however, there are more than two or three flights of stairs. Anyone who does not travel light may have a hard time. In our case, it was just fine, but our parents (aged ~ 60) were out of breath going up to the room. ... Palazzo Masi is a medieval building located in the heart of Siena, a minute's walk from the main plaza and great shopping. A summer night's stay may be uncomfortable due to the heat and lack of air conditioning, but cooler months would make for a wonderful experience. The very helpful and attentive owners were a delight.

We were disappointed in the fact that breakfast was not offered as expected. Everything else was very satisfactory.

The owner told us that she would be there in the breakfast room in the morning. We actually couldn't find a breakfast room and called her the next morning. We were told that breakfast was only included if we asked for it. We've never stayed in a B&B where breakfast was 'optional' and we had to request it. This was very confusing. I don't think it should be called a 'B&B' unless they plan to serve breakfast. The room was on a busy street and very noisy with the window open. There was an odor in the bathroom--either plumbing issues or a dead mouse??? ... When we made the reservation, the voucher stated that credit cards were accepted. When we arrived, they had a note saying that they would not accept credit cards. ... There is no parking available near the B&B. We were able to drop off our bags but had to find a garage to leave the car. It was a 10 minute walk back--very hilly. Also, the garage was very expensive. The B&B gave us a discount certificate but it was only 5 euros. The owners/staff are not present at the location. She gave us a card with her phone number but we're used to staying at B&B's where there are people available to answer questions. ... It was a very convenient location if you wanted to stay in town. We liked being able to easily walk around town at night. I would not recommend this location if you have a car. We wanted to take day trips from Siena and it would have been a lot better if we had stayed someplace outside of town.

We called from the train station letting her know our arrival. We could have used a little better instructions for getting to the hotel. Daniella was very gracious when we finally arrived. ... Clean, spacious but not very quiet (party downstairs in next building). Not exactly like the website but close. The towels were amazingly thin and there were no glasses in the room to drink from. ... We paid at breakfast so there was no organization required. The breakfast was excellent and they were both very friendly. ... Clean and very handy to the square - a good location.
