The accomodation was fantastic and the views over the country side even better. The hosts were extremely helpful and pleasant. A highlight of our trip was the evening when the hosts arranged a local lady to come to the house and prepare a five course meal for us. That was wonderful. Two small criticisms. 1/ The water supply had a strong organic smell which was quite unpleasant particularly when heated as in the showers. 2/ Mosquitos were present every night with all members of our party suffering numerous and painful bites. I accept that this is difficult to manage but if anything could be done to prevent them from being in the house at night would be a definite improvement.

The website portrays the image that the house is attached to the winery. This is not the case which is a bonus. The views over the countryside, especially during the sunsets cannot be oversold, they are fantastic. The website does not state that the house and section is attached to other premises and that you are likely to have to share this space with others. This was a surprise to us but not a major inconvience.

A wonderful Tuscan country house set on top of one the highest hills in the area, with stunning views over the Chianti hills all the way to Florence. Located close to numerous wineries and resturants. The stay here was everything that we expected and hoped for with Tuscan holiday.

Q. 1 We did not use your directions. We already had directions to Castello il Palaggio, for the wedding we were attending there. The apartment we stayed in (Ligliano 1) was about 5 kilometres away from the Castello.

Q. 6 We only saw the staff at the beginning of our stay when they led the way to the apartment, which was self-catering, and when we checked out.

The precise location of the apartment was unknown to us until we were taken there. If it is on the web site, we did not see it.

A spacious and well-equipped refurbished farmhouse located in open countryside, 1-2 kilometres outside Mercatale in Val di Pesa.
It is ideal for quiet relaxation and within easy travelling distance of Florence, Siena and San Gimignano.

Although the address of the accommodation states that it is in Mercatale, the actual accommodation is not situated in Mercatale but at Quadro Strade. Also in the wider area there are many roads with the name Via Di Campoli which makes things even more confusing

The property was much better than what we expected and it position was fantastic. It had a beautiful gardens and a wonderful site from the terrace. It is situated in a very peaceful area and hence away from noisy roads.

Since we visited Tuscany in Summer the only thing that we would have liked to have was a swimming pool so that we could take a swim after returning from our long excursions.

We were two families that stayed in the house and both of us were extremely pleased with the facilities and the serene surroundings.
If I was to visit Tuscany again I would definitely want to stay in this property again. Its location is ideal and the Chanti area is fantastic.

The scale of the map to Il Palagio is not accurate and therefore difficult to find the road leading to the castle.
