 Podere Oliveta is located 200 mt from the hamlet of Gavignano. Set on the top of a hill, which overlooks the whole surrounding countryside: the Val d'Elsa and San Gimignano. It is in the centre of Tuscany with easy access to the main routes towards Florence (30 minutes by car) Siena (20 minutes), Volterra, San Gimignano, the villages and castles of Chianti. By Car: Arriving from the north: leave the highway A1, "autostrada del sole" at the exit Firenze Certosa and take the motorway Firenze-Siena. Drive along (34 km) this road as far as the exit Poggibonsi Nord. At the roundabout follow the directions towards Poggibonsi centre and drive for about 500 mt. Turn left into the first road on your left towards Gavignano and drive for other 1,8 Km. Pass the little hamlet of Gavignano and at the end of the asphalted road you'll see a sign "Oliveta" on your right.
Coming from Rome: drive until Siena and then follow the direction towards Firenze. Take the motorway Siena-Firenze and after 23 km at the exit of Poggibonsi Nord follow the directions of 'arriving from the north'.
By Plane: Coming from Pisa airport: leave the exit from the car park at the airport following the sign for Firenze and drive along this motorway until you reach the junction with the highway A1 "autostrada del sole". Take the highway, direction Roma and leave it at the following exit Firenze Certosa. From here follow the direction above.
Coming from Florence Airport: turn right on leaving the airport and follow the green highway signs. Take the motorway at Firenze Nord following the direction to Roma. Drive for about 15 km and take the exit of Firenze Certosa. From here follow the direction of 'arriving from the north'.
By Train: the nearest railway station is Poggibonsi. From there, you can rent a car or you can catch a taxi until Oliveta. |
