Podere Montese is a delightful place to stay for a relaxing or sightseeing holiday in the Tuscan hills.
David and family are most hospitable and welcoming, this is the second time we have chosen to stay here and I would have no qualms about recommending it to others.

Podere Montese was a very good start of a very good holiday in Tuscany. The house is situated on a hill between olive and wine trees and with a magnificant view on San Gimignano. Far away from all the crowds you can enjoy the house made wine and enjoy the beautiful views and traquility of Podere Montese!!

It was a very lovely place. We could recommend to everybody who like the beautiful environment and the quiet place. The vino rosso made in Podere Montese was excellent.

Simple, comfortable accommodation in a well converted farmhouse, set in beautiful grounds in the hills overlooking San Gimignano. There are shared cooking facilities if required, and wine and olive oil produced in the grounds are available. A friendly place, popular with families, with a good swimming pool and good scope for (rather hilly) walking. Good choice of Tuscan restaurants in San Gimignano, which is a few minutes' drive away.

We were very pleased with Podera Montese and what was very nice was how friendly the host family was. This was not as evident by your web page...maybe you want to mention the friendly personal reception the family gives you.

Having to pay cash was troublesome because by the booking it appeared we were going to be able to charge so I had not brought enough cash along and had to run to town to get money to pay.

AGain, just the fact that it is family run and very quaint and an experience of family. I thought also that it was really nice that he spoke fluent German and she spoke fluent English so that they could communicate with all of their guests.

There are no evening meals avaiable at Podere Montese. You must go to a restaurant in de naborhood. There is a possibility to use the kitchen to provide your own meals.

We had a fabulous stay at Podere Montese. Perhaps not to everyone's taste as it was very 'Italian' but we thought it was just marvellous. The family who ran the B&B were very friendly and welcoming. It's position on the hills with the most amazing view of San Gimignano is unbeatable.

Could have been improved in one small way - telling us where/how to dispose of rubbish during the otherwise excellent briefing.

We had an accident using the coffee pots, which we still don't understand how to use. A kettle would have been welcome.
The property is further from town than is stated, which did not bother us, but might have annoyed someone expecting to as close as advertised.

We were concerned that the stains to kitchen walls as a result of problem with coffee pot might have been an issue, but we were made to feel very comfortable, and no question of us being held accountable.
Credit cards were not accepted, though it says on the website very clearly that they are.

Very clean and comfortable, friendly, a little far from town to go in every evening on foot, but close enough to go occasionally.

Great place and definitely one I would recommend to my friend - convenient location, friendly people, wonderful view of the country and San Gimignano, great wine and oil - the property´s own production. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Definitely good choice!!!

Extremely beautiful place!! Very friendly owner's. Good breakfast. The view, room, terrace and pool was magnificent. Clean and quit. A bit far from town if you don't have a car.
If you are a clean fanatic you might have a problem with the shared kitchen. It was a bit dirty, mainly due to the heavy useage by the guests. However it did contain all cooking facilities.

We interacted mostly with David, He was a delightful host. I would recommend Podere Montese to anyone looking for comfortable, afforable accomdations. It was very nice to have access to a kitchen for meal preparation. The location was lovely, beautiful views form our room, the veranda, the terrace - all around the property.

A real gem! The family who runs it are very welcoming and helpful. The view is absolutely beautiful. The room was clean, nicely decorated and quiet. The breakfast was substantial by Italy standards. We loved everything about it!

outsiders and felt the need to stay in our
room. I wish there had been a bit more
information given to us as to the extent of
the gathering and we could have planned
accordingly.

it might be 1k from the outer boundaries of San Gimigiano but it is not as close to the village as expected

i found the property very hard to find a sign at the roundabout would be a good idea

i found david and his wife very friendly and very helpfull the veiws from the house where fab i would recommend this property highly the fact that you can use the kitchen to cook your own food is a big plus also being made to feel at home and being able to buy the wine from the vineyard

Very relaxing, in a good area for sight seeing. Very friendly, with fantastic views. I would recommend that people hired a car, as walking into the local village is a fair distance.

Our hosts gave us directions to our next destination and were very available and friendly. They were willing to answer any questions that we had and always friendly and accessible.

It seemed a bit further than 1 kil. to San Giminano. The rooms were private but noisy...thin walls and loud doors.

Beautifully surrounded by vineyards and open space. A lovely pool area. Our rooms were spacious and clean with beautiful views of the property. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast outside was a wonderful way to start the day.

The roadsignes for Podere Montese was hard to discover. We had trouble finding it.

The bathroom was rather small and the toilet was not easy to flush.
The bathroomtowels were thin, almos like the ones you use for dishwashing.

When we booked the room, we had to use a creditcard as a guarantie for the payment. So we asumed that we could pay with the same creditcard. But they do NOT take any kind of creditcards.

In the information on the website it is stated that it is about 1 km from the town. It is a halfhours walk, to the nearest resturant. For norwegians who do not drink and drive its a bit long.

We arrived from the other side of town in the dark. It is a remote prperty very hard to find in the daylight. We were late as we had problems at the airport. A note was left with arrows to our room, but it took us a while to find the note.

It was listed on both voucher and website that we could pay by credit card, but this is not allowed at Podere Montese. We had to go into town and it delayed our departure by about 1 1/2 hours because we had to get cash.

The swimming pool is not open at leat the first two weeks of May.

In the website it was mentioned that I could pay with my creditcard but when I checked out they said that was not possible so I had problems getting the money in cash and that costed me one day of my holliday

The only negative point about the whole stay was the directions they were a little confusing and I feel they could have been a lot easier. It was also have been very useful if the Podere Montese had been sign-posted at the roundabout as there didn't appear to be a sign.

The location of the property was amazing. The kitchen facilities were very good and fairly unexpected as we were not self-catering with the fridge coming in particularly useful.

The people at Podere Montese were exeptionally friendly and we were warmly welcomed. We felt comfortable at once. Everything was very uncomplicated and it felt like being 'part of the familiy'.
