Monsignor della Casa Country Resort is located in Tuscany, in the heart of the Mugello district, home of the Medici family and famous artists such as Giotto, Cimabue and Fra Angelico. It is situated in the midst of the estate where Giovanni della Casa was born in 1503. |
He rose to fame as Vatican Secretary of State under Pope Paul IV, and as the author of "Il Galateo", one of the world's greatest books on etiquette. Translated into several languages this book became the undisputed reference standard for the ladies-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth I of England. |
Monsignor della Casa is a heavenly resort, a charming place that is ideal for long stays, surrounded by a special atmosphere of comfort and those important "little things". Only 3 km from Borgo San Lorenzo, the most important town in the Mugello district, the estate extends over two hundred hectares creating a living fresco. The Country Resort is situated next to the 16th century villa of Monsignor della Casa and its huge gardens. |
Once these buildings were farmhouses, stables and barns. Today they are apartments and villas furnished in the most authentic Tuscan style creating a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Trussed ceilings, terracotta floors, fireplaces, wrought-iron canopied beds, tasteful upholstery and all the accessories were carefully selected to preserve the charm of a country home. |
Forgetting the city is possible, in a place that excites us with ancient tales coloured from great paintings. Let you be surrounded by this living Tuscan fresco. Realise Tuscany, walking on paths which rise up through woods to discover animal tracks and amazing panoramas. |
Cycle on a mountain-bike to a nearby knoll or go on horseback along the high grounds among towers and artisan workshops to buy local wares, then refresh yourself plunging into a swimming-pool, make up a tennis tournament with other guests or play a round of golf with friends at the course nearby. A slow rhythm dominates. Discover harmony in a place that is different from all the others. |
