Not too far from Florence, not to far from Pisa exactly in the right spot if you plan to travel around. Great place with great atmosphere to spend your holidays.

Sue and Ricardo were wonderful hosts. They were so gracious, and sat with us to pour over maps to ensure we knew our way before we left.

Our hosts also gave great advice for local restaurants, took care to ensure we were comfortable in our rooms, and seemed to enjoy introducing us to other guests. We would have loved to have stayed longer!

When we booked we really could not tell how convenient the B & B and Empoli would be for touring more of Italy. There is lots of parking within walking distance to the train station and Empoli was so central! Had we known this, I think we would have stayed longer at I Melograni and would have used it for a home base for seeing beyond just Florence - say to Lucca, Pisa and parts north and west.

A wonderful friendly haven, easy to get to and well located for touring the countryside. Stay here to visit Firenze, Lucca and beyond. Sue and Riccardo are very welcoming and generous with their time and advice. They allowed guests to use a refrigerator and the tables in the evenings for eating. In addition to making meals convenient (and less expensive than restaurants), we got to meet and visit with the other guests. This was a lovely atmosphere with a stunning view and large, clean rooms. And the coffee is terrific! Riccardo says it's the water...

Mapquest did not have the address listed and directed us to another location. After some time, finally arrived by directions and map from a friendly clerk in town.
