Coming from Switzerland, France and Milano: Reach the highway which runs along the Ligurian coast from Genova to Pisa, then follow the directions to Grosseto and Rome, which will take you onto the highway called Aurelia, one of Italy's main roads linking north to south, originally built by the Roman emperor Aurelius.
Coming from Germany and Austria: Take the highway to Florence, exit at Firenze Certosa and drive onto the highway to Siena. From there follow the directions to Grosseto, and furthermore to Roma which will take you onto the highway called "Aurelia".
Take the exit Albinia. At the first T-junction turn left following directions for Manciano and Saturnia, (you will pass over the highway). At the second T-junction turn left again and leave the village of Albinia still heading for Manciano and Saturnia.
From Fiumicino Airport: follow the indications for Roma, soonafter which you will find the exit for the highway A12 towards Civitavecchia. Drive to Civitavecchia. At Civitavecchia the highway ends. After the pay toll keep heading north on the road called "Aurelia" or "S.S.1" direction Grosseto and Livorno.
From Ciampino Airport: follow the indications for Roma, then get onto the highway G.R.A. (Grande Raccordo Annulare) towards the airport Fiumicino and from then on follow the indications for Civitavecchia. Proceed as above.
After ca. 69 kms take the first exit to Albinia and follow the signs for Manciano and Saturnia.
To Marsiliana (Castello, Massimo)
Driving out of Albinia, you will pass a railway crossing. Go straight on for 14 kms until you reach Marsiliana. You will see the castle on top of a small hill from afar. Now follow the cypress-lined road leading up the hill. At the second group of houses take the right drive up to the castle. We will be expecting you in the courtyard of the castle to the left hand side. You will personally be accompanied to your house from here.
Reaching your House from the Castle of Marsiliana:
To Cutignolo: as you descend to the main road from the castle there is a sharp left turn heading for Capalbio. After 2 kms you arrive at a small roundabout, there turn left and go straight on for 2 kms, after which you will see a white house on the right. Opposite stands Cutignolo, hidden by trees. Enter the small private gravel road to the left of the house, which leads to the parking area.
To Casa nel Bosco: as you descend to the main road from the castle there is a sharp left turn heading for Capalbio. After about 1,4 km, a little before you reach a turn about, you will see a small country road which turns off into the woods, immediately opposite a white house. Turn left here, this road will take you directly to your house (about 500 meters). |
