The hamlet of Marsiliana is perched on top of a hill 14 km from the Maremma coast. It is the center of a large estate producing wine and olive oil which has been in the hands of the princely family Corsini for many centuries. The castle and two farmhouses with wonderful gardens, private pools and the vicinity of the seaside with white sandy beaches have an inspiring Mediterranean atmosphere.
Marsiliana Castle
The main house, a honey coloured villa known as Castello, houses up to 13 people. The villa has a warm and welcoming atmoshere and a view which stretches over the hills, the plain and the seaside in the distance. The wonderful terraced orange tree garden with private pool and palm trees combined with the vicinity of the seaside (14 km) with lovely sandy beaches give the house an inspiring Meditteranean atmosphere. |
The patio in front of the house has a large pergola covered in wistaria which invites for meals outside. On the other side of the house is the three-tiered garden with a profusion of citrus trees, roses and palm trees. A pathway through the garden leads to the swimming pool. The view from the house and the garden is onto silvery olive groves and the seaside in the distance. The hamlet of Marsiliana is only 1 hours drive from Siena, whilst Rome and Florence are 2 hours away. The hamlet lies close to the village of Albinia and the town of Orbetello, at the beginning of the peninsula Monte Argentario. The closest city is Grosseto.

Only a short drive from the castle the 2 farmhouses Podere and Stalla offer accommodation for 14 and 12 people each. Also only 14 km from the sea, the houses are surrounded by a garden with large pool which melts into to vineyards of the estate. The garden was designed in order to allow each house sufficient privacy. |
Cutignolo is a generous, spacious and well equipped ensemble which was fully restored in the year 2000. Both houses are filled with sun-light and cheerful colours and the large french windows on the ground floor of both buildings allow you to move freely between indoors and outside. |
The front of the main house "Podere" has a spacious pergola with table and chairs. The lawn at the back of the house is flanked by a long and low barn - "La Stalla" - painted a beautiful dark terracotta colour which houses 6 bedrooms, a living kitchen, a living room, a laundry and and a large dining room. The decoration of the houses is the result of a family-collaboration in choosing the colours, actually doing the special paint effects, designing the kitchens and finding the right furniture at antique shops and markets. |
The houses are surrounded by vineyards which were planted a couple of years ago and are beginning to produce interesting results and open landscape, the woods of Marsiliana beginning in the background. Next to the house a road leads from the hamlet of Marsiliana to Capalbio, a charming Tuscan hilltop village which has become fashionable over the last 10 years. |
