Spending time at the Villa Marsili was a wonderful beginning to our trip to Italy. We were warmly greeted upon arrival, presented a most comfortable and well appointed room along with one of the nicest bathrooms we have encountered in any of our Europe trips. The staff was helpful in directions and dinner recomendations and we enjoyed having an evening drink along with the other guests, watching the sun go down and waiting for dinner. I think this will be one of our most favorite hotels in Italy.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Samantha, who worked very hard to make our stay comfortable for the entire four days we were there. Check in went smoothly, they were expecting us and had our accomodations ready.

This is the absolute best that Italy has to offer. A charming hotel, excellent service, great breakfast buffet! Our stay at the Marsili was the most enjoyable of any we've experienced in Italy, and we have been traveling to Italy for 15 yrs. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, the hotel itself is spotless and beautiful. I especially loved the 7:00PM 'Happy Hour' they held in the hotel each evening with snacks and yummy refreshments. This allowed us to meet and get to know the other guests staying there.

A must stay when traveling through Tuscany. I plan on going back and staying several weeks. The town of Cortona is marvelous and coming 'home' to the Villa Marsili each night was icing on the cake!

It was a really delightful stay in a beautiful hotel. The staff were most helpful, the rooms were well furnished (if a little short of storage space for clothes) and the hospitality was excellent. The breakfasts were plentiful and well presented, the early evening aperitif enhanced the atmosphere of a private country house and their recommendations of local restaurants, activities etc were most useful.

Single occupancy of the double room cost very little more than the price charged for the single room. The single room was very expensive, in relative terms. So my answer to question 13 reflects that.

I don't remember if the complimentary aperitif is mentioned on the website.
The excellent breakfasts could merit a mention too.

I loved hotel. It is bright and cheery and clean. The service is excellent and helpful. The breakfasts are wonderful. I actually returned to the hotel again because I enjoyed Cortona and the hotel so much.

A very friendly and knowledgeable staff, always ready to help you from dinner reservations to pointing out where the laundry mart is. Clean, spacious rooms, and delicious buffet breakfast. Great antiques displayed as well.

The hotel was amazing! The suite on the top floor overlooking the valley is a must. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was over the top wonderful to us. We will be back for sure and will recommend this hotel to everyone we know. THANK YOU Hotel Marsili for being the highlight of our trip to Italy.

Very beautiful Hotel only few steps from historical centre of Cortona. Very nice rooms, outstanding views, excellent service and extraordinary hospitality. Everything absolutely perfect. Maybe my best Hotel-stay ever. WITH BEST RECOMENDATION!

Julia (reception) is absolutely the BEST! She went out of her way to be helpful & was very charming.

There were only 2 areas that might have been improved: the shower, while excellent, was set in such a way as to make washing your lower body almost impossible. If a handheld shower was provided, that would be ideal. The other suggestion would be to have a bookshelf for guests to leave books they have finished & exchange it for new reading material. Many other hotels do something along these lines. On the plus side, I very much enjoyed the complimentary 'happy hour' & looked forward to each evening. And again, I can't say enough positive about JULIA.

My husband and I only planned one night in Cortona at the Hotel Villa Marsili, which we soon realized was a mistake. So, we asked for a late check-out, but could not be accomodated because other guest were arriving and the room was needed. That was completely understandable, but your staff helped by offering to keep our bags and car while we explored more of Cortona. Everyone was very accomodating.

Hard to turn in from the narrow street! Missed the entrance the first time.

We appreciated the Villa holding our luggage beyond check out time so we could visit and eat lunch before leaving Cartona.

They have a wonderful happy hour each evening where you can meet other guest. It is also a place that celebrities stay while in Cortone. Diane Lane, Geoffrey Rush and Gwyneth Paltrow.
