Receptionist tried to make an additional charge for parking, until I was able to produce voucher showing that it was included.
No welcome drinks provided on arrival.
We were told on arrival that the hotel no longer had a restaurant - if we had known this earlier, we would not have chosen this hotel. ... Some maintenance required throughout the building. Swimming pool furniture needs replacement and sanitery fittings need attention. ... No porter was available to take luggage to car park. ... You should inform people thaat there is not a restaurant available. ... Sadly this hotel did not provide the amenities and standards expected for a 4 star hotel in this price range.There was a distinct lack of supervision by the management.
General lack of ambiance and feeling that business is in decline.

excellent, pleasant and very helpful ... very comfortable, friendly, clean and well situated ... quick and accurate ... fantastic views from the bedroom [and bathroom!] Within walking distance of restaurants staff very freindly and helpful ... beautiful, clean, healthy and people friendly. great food and wine and interesting. Roads traffic free.

LIMITED CHOICE ON DINNER MENUES. ... AN EXCELLENT GOOD VALUE HOTEL WELL SITED FOR VISITING THE MAJOR CITIES IN TUSCANY AND ALSO AS A BASE FOR TOURING THE TUSCANY COUNTRYSIDE.

The standard room didn't have any view from the window. We had to pay a supplement to have a room with a view. ... View from the standard rooms.

A very beautiful place. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. ... Difficult to find the entrance to the hotel. I made two trips around it (one way street)and finally had to pull into the garage entrance and call on the speaker phone to get into the garage. It is a long way to the hotel to carry baggage from there. Only on check out did we find out about the unusual location of the entrance. ... I would recommend it.

It is a nice hotel. Good food - though not very many people in the restuarant at the time. The bar around the pool was also nice to have. ... A nice hotel, well positioned for visiting PISA and Florence, with a good quality resturant and a nice pool.

The air conditioning in the bedroom struggled to keep the room cool. The Dinner menu never changed and no translation was available. It was not easy to get a snack by the pool at lunchtime. ... Tennis is off site and chargeable ... The hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. The reception staff were outstanding. The pool area is good but the snacks available were disappointing. It is worth getting a suite for the balcony which has wonderful views. Montaione is very well placed for exploring Tuscany and was not busy even in August.

Receptionist was very friendly and cheerful. ... The bath left a lot to be desired and there was no shower facility either separate on in the bath other than a hand shower which did not stretch very far ... We thought the underground car park was free but it wasn't ... Very nice small quite hotel in a town which very well situated for touring Tuscany

no restaurant, dirty pool, wrong room- category, instantcoffee at breakfirst, roomcleaning sometimes just on approach, no german- speaking staff, often closed poolbar, just public-parking is incuded, and much more ... The house is so beautiful, and it gets almost any facilities, but nobody cares for them ... I insist on a lower price. ... to expensive, The service is not half as good as promised. Its not a problem on the staff, its a problem of unorganized and lazy management.

Breaffasts were poor - for example no fresh orange juice and cakes left over from day to day. ... The web site refers to the hotel as being minutes from San Gimignan - which is a little misleading - it is at least 20 minutes. Also the hotel restaurant was closed all week which in such a small village meant the options were severley restricted. Air conditioning did not work properly for 2 nights which was very uncomfortable.

The staff had to be rmiended of the voucher price as the price they tried to charge was doble the agreed price!! ... Amend reference to DVD player - ithe website gives the impression taht it is in the room.
Not all junior suites ahve separate seating areas - this should be made clearer
Facilities within the hotel for lunch were very limited

in a romantic old little village there is a high class hotel with a classical atmosphere. good old fashioned service.
