Once we found the B&B (not too difficult, as
it is a small town), we were very warmly
welcomed and our first impressions of the
room were fantastic. The room was great, and
the instuctions given to us about the room
and breakfast services were perfect. Maria
(the owner) was very friendly and made us
feel very welcome.
...
We had a fantastic stay at Palazzo Malaspina
- we loved the room, loved the location (an
amazing, quiet little town with very
excellent restaurants just steps away), and
especially enjoyed the very excellent
breakfast provided each morning. The
breakfast service was exceptional.
...
The checkout was simple and very
accomodating, as we paid in cash (as
requested) and were able to leave our bags
for a while before we left town.
...
The breakfast service should be described as
being excellent - amazing quality and lots
of quantity. The breakfast made the stay
even more comfortable and worthwhile. The
room was very spacious and comfortable, and
the bathroom large and fully equipped.
...
Fantastic. It was the most comfortable,
spacious and well equipped (air
conditioning, lots of storage space,
excellent bathroom with small jacuzzi) we
stayed in during our visit to Italy. The
location was perfect -- San Donato is a
small, quiet hilltop town that is both very
relaxing and provides plenty of services
(great restaurants, gelato and bars/shops,
tourist information station). The town is
not full of tourists, and provides an
authentic Tuscany experience, with friendly
locals and lots of countryside to enjoy
right on your doorstep. The town is also
will located for easy day-trips to other
parts of Tuscany -- you are within easy
reach of all the touristy places without
having to stay in a busy, tourist-filled
area. We highly recommend it.

WOW. It was heaven.
...
We didn't want to leave...!
...
It was really a dream come true.... the rooms
made me feel like a princess! The view was
breathtaking and the sunsets unbelievable.
Maria even sold us some of her amazing fig jam
and gave us some tomato confi! I cannot say
enough about our stay at Palazzo Malaspina.
Also, the restaurant next door (La Toppa) was
UNBELIEVABLE, FANTASTIC!!!

...
I cannot express how wonderful it was, you
must simply see it for yourself. And when you
do, can I come with you???

The pictures do not give the beautiful countryside justice. The hotel and the city were absolutely amazing.
...
That parking is not allowed on the street in front of the Bed and Breakfast. We almost had our car towed because that was not clear and got a parking ticket for $200 dollars.
...
Beautiful, quaint, quiet. It was like we were sent back in time. Great food and wonderful surroundings.

The owner of the Bed and Breakfast was there
to greet us when we arrived
...
Spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated with
super clean bathrooms and plenty of amenities.
Good breakfast, with lots of choice. Good
value. Although I think we were the only
people staying so it was a bit quite around
the house and I felt as though I should have
been tip toeing along the corridors! Never
the less all in all a very pleasant stay
...
A renaissance house owned by the same family
for generations. Beautiful house with good
sized bedrooms and super clean bathrooms. A
good place to stay as a stop over as there
isn't really much to do in the immediate
area. You can walk around the village in
about 10 minutes! Don't let this put you off.
Great little restaurant next door for supper
in the evening. There is also a little bar
in the village for your aparatif!

We were early to arrive and they were not really ready for us, so that was our fault. Had we come when we planned on it, we would have been greeted better, I believe.
...
The rooms were exceptionally clean and very, very nice. The food was outstanding as well. Very friendly and accomodating staff.
...
Very smooth.
...
One of the couples we were with was disappointed that they did not have a view of the countryside, only of the street below. The room was beautiful, however, and the other three couples who did have a view offered to switch but they didn't want to. Perhaps the rooms could be described a little better so they know what they are getting for sure. Would not have bothered me but maybe someone else.
...
Highly recommended.

First impression was fabulous....as a chocoholic there was a candy dish of chocolates at entrance!
...
Maria was so warm and welcoming. Her homemade crepes each morning along with breakfast buffet was delicious.
...
All went very smoothly.
...
Location fabulous----small town atmosphere, but convenient to Florence, Siena, and all the other hill-top Tuscan villages.....Prices very reasonable for accomodations and great restaurants near-by...
...
WOW!!! This place is a great find! As a travel agent myself and also a traveler, I would definitely recommend Palazzo MAlaspina to my clients and I look forward to returning there myself. As for my two week trip to Italy--my stay here was the HIGHLIGHT!
(Please forward all of these comments to Maria at Palazzo Malespina--she's the BEST!)....

The Palazzo Malaspina was perfect in so many ways. It is in a perfect location to get to Firenze, vineyards, Sienna, etc. It is in a perfect little Tuscan village with amazingly warm and friendly people throughout the town, the staff and Maria, the owner, were gracious, helpful in planning excursions, and did little extra things like help me practice my Italian or made sure we had a bottle of water at the end of each day. We had the best time of our trip here and will definitely be back!

The property and the town were lovely, peaceful and everything we had hoped for when we planned on visiting the Tuscany region. Maria Pellizzari, the owner of the hotel, was a fabulous hostess. Her breakfasts and cappicinos were marvelous. We especially appreciated her suggestions about what to see and do. They were perfect.
...
That there are two lovely restaurants next door.
...
Absolutely. In fact, I already have and that is how we found out about it.

We were somewhat late on arriaval. I did
call in advance to advise of this. Maria and
her husband were waiting for us and other
than the passport ID put off the check in
particulars'til the morning. A very nice
greeting as we had driven for some hours.
...
A lovely place. Lovely room and exceptional
plumbing.
The staff was very accomodating and
cheerful. Breakfast great.

Internet availability was a problem. The was
a @cfe nearby, but nothing on premises.
...
Painless.
...
That there are 2 S.Donatos.

...
Beautiful. A good location to use as a base
to see Tuscany. Reasonably priced. Quiet.

The breakfast was really a pleasure. It was much more than we expected. We have really appreciated the fresh juice each morning as well as crepres and egg omelettes.
...
It is a really cute place to spend a holiday. The rooms are very nice and clear. We had a splendid view from our balcony. As for the breakfast ... I can only say marvellous.
I would really recommend the place also for the convenient location for any place in Tuscany.

The staff was very helpful and always willing to do extras. The rooms were very nice and the towels/linens crisp & clean and changed every day.
...
Check out ran very smoothly and was completely accurate.
...
San Donato is a very small town with just a few resturants.
...
Typical of the Tuscany area, very helpful & friently stall, very good value for the cost, and the most terrific breakfasts. The breakfast room was large and airy, the food selection was enormous and the ladies who served were so pleasant and willing to make our breakfast experience enjoyable.
