In a building from the 12th Century, "Villa Lysis" is a place ideal for people who want to visit Florence without parking and traffic problems, immersed in a pleasant, refined and calm atmosphere. The house, supplied with all modern comforts and a nice garden, has a dominant and panoramic position in the valley of Florence. Near the property, there are many artistic, cultural and culinary attractions. |
The history of "Villa Lysis" says that it was built in the 12th Century, as a small fortified farm guarding the fertile valley and road to Pisa. In the 16th Century, it was transformed into a Villa and a Chapel was added. During the 19th Century, it was owned by a rich upper-middle class family who made changes and innovations to the property. Thanks to the skill of the head of the family, it was the first house in the area to have electricity and a running water system. |
After the Second World War, the last owners left the villa, which then went to ruin. In 1989, the building came into the possession of the current owner who carried out important restoration work, respecting the original architecture and decorations. It has been furnished in style with old furniture that produces an overall pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. |
