 The managers of La Locanda di San Francesco live in the palazzo and are at disposal of the guests for any need during their stay. If you must do the check in later than 8.00 p.m. there will be no problem if you warn of your arrival in advance.
At this town house suite breakfast is the main service: a continental buffet is displayed every morning, featuring yoghurt, croissants, ham, cheese bread, fruit, orange juice, coffee and tea. It is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor or on request in the terrace when the sun begins to warm the air. |
 Besides this first meal, at the "...e lucevan le stelle" wine bar and bistrot, within the same building, you can have snacks, in summer season, till 11 pm. The wine-bar is under the same ownership of the Locanda, Cinzia Caporali and Luca De Nicoḷ, whose family runs a succesful local winery, Tenuta Valdipiatta. Therefore you should not miss their precious selection of French and Italian wines; pasta, cheeses and other dishes are also part of the offer. ".. e lucevan le stelle" is also the perfect location for temporary expositions and jazz concerts. |

 You should not leave Montepulciano until you have tasted the delicious wines produced in the area. At the reception of La Locanda guests can book private guided tours and tastings at a winery, Tenuta Valdipiatta, where the Nobile di Montepulciano wine and other red wines are created.
The centre of the town is also worth visiting: as a starting point, go up to the top of the Palazzo Comunale, the Town Hall, from where you will get an amazing panorama of the surroundings, and of the Val di Chiana. In less than half an hour driving you could visit Pienza, the Val d'Orcia, San Quirico, Bagno Vignoni, Lake Trasimeno, Cortona. Perugia, Orvieto and Siena are less than an hour driving from Montepulciano. |
