Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We shared a quad room with 2 friends and although it contained 2 queen beds it was still not cramped. The bathroom appeared to be newly renovated and was also large.

The hotel was spacious and nicely decorated in all areas including breakfast and common rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location and I would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending to anyone. Rooms were well appointed and it was one of only 2 hotels -we stayed in 13 overall- that was able to supply us with a well needed iron.

We stayed here for just one night in April 2006. The hotel is beautiful. Be sure to request a view of the countryside…it is so dramatic…the room was large and very clean, with a huge bathroom which had a fantastic shower. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. TV in room includes CNN (the only English channel) The price included breakfast which is a basic continental style
San Gimignano which is amazing and a MUST to see is not the place too stay if you are looking for late night bars and clubs (but nor is anywhere in Tuscany) There are though a number of lovely restaurants to eat and drink at. However a MUST is the Vera Much which is a terraced restaurant with the most magnificent view of Tuscany…a beautiful way to watch the sun set while eating and downing a litre of Chianti (28Euros for the two of us including two courses and wine)
All in all a great choice of Hotel that I thoroughly recommend in a beautiful medieval town that probably hasn’t changed in 500 years

Re no. 4. - the room had an airconditioner but it didnt work. The room was clean and beautiful but it was very hot in Italy and we would have appreciated the air conditioning to work. I checked with another person staying at the hotel and was told that the rooms that faced the piazza (which we were in one of them)didnt have good air conditioning, but the other rooms did. I wonder if the people running the hotel were aware of that. I am sure. Maybe we should have complained but I didnt find that info out until the end of the week.
All in all it was a great stay but next time I will not stay in a room that was stifling hot.

The arrival went very smoothly. The town is lovely, and is a bit confusing in itself, but the hotel wrote us with clear directions, and we got to the hotel with no problems, and a lovely greeting.

Entering the walls of San Gimignano can be tough and confusing. But the directions were very clear and we did not get lost or take a wrong turn.

The accommodations and amenities were very good. The breakfast that was included was excellent and the best we experienced during our two week stay throughout Europe.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of one of the most popular piazzas. Though, we were rarely bothered by any noise from the piazza as there were double windows, which effectively blocked out noise.

Reception provided us with excellent information to get us to our next destination in Sienna, this was not easy for them as I barely speak a word of Italian. It is always a little treacherous driving the extremely thin, windy road up to the hotel (especially driving through the arch!), so you might warn drivers about that; but it is so worth it!

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel; and we loved it even more this time! The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and the accommodations are wonderful.

Just about driving up to the hotel and then parking in a designated lot. You are allowed ample time to park your car in front of the hotel to unload your car, but then you must drive to the parking area and leave your car there. It is about a 10-minute walk back to the hotel.

Only fault was that the room was too hot. ASked for the heating to be lowered but it did not seem possible. Maybe it was all controlled on the same temperature.

The Hotel is well planned and the rooms do not suffer from excessive noise from the adjoining rooms.
The roomviews of the Elsa Valley are the most quiet and we pre-booked one of these.
These views are outstanding and the Hotel entrance is straight onto the main Piazza

As above, also the Hotel's pavement cafe is the most popular in the town and very atmospheric for people watching

would have liked more information about what was available in the evening at the hotel ie. were we able to get coffee, or drinks from the hotel bar, we never saw anyone using the bar or tv room or gym and felt you were not encouraged to use them. staff very friendly if you had a transport or restaurant query.

It is a nice hotel, comfortable and very well located at the centre of San Giminiano, just in front of the 'Cistern'. The recepcionist was very kind and has indicated a very good restaurant.

We wished we had known about the vehicle transfer service from the bottom of the gate to the hotel as we had very heavy bags and had to pull them up the cobblestone road.

The only comment I would make is that one of the reception staff did not have the most current information and gave us incorrect advice regarding a local tour. We missed it and had to wait until the next day, which was frustrating as we wanted to know all about the town, where to go and what to see on our first day.

Good, except that again, we did know about the discount that is offered if accounts are settled in cash unitl we read the (small) notice at the check out counter. Some advice prior to the check out day would have been most helpful, or at least as we were actually checking out!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the hotel and would thoroughly recommend it to others. The location is terrific and the room we had was very comfortable, cool, clean and had a sensational view overlooking the Tuscan countryside. It has a great atmosphere about the place, both in a historical and modern sense.

Just make sure that you have indicated that there is no parking in or very near the Hotel and that there is a shuttle bus to and from a parking area outside the city walls.

A hotel that is in keeping with its medieval setting and provides very comfortable accomodation right smack bang in the middle a very magical place! The hotel interacts with its surroundings excelently.

I said 'Confusing' on the directions because you did not give directions for people arriving by bus.
We arrived by bus at night, and it is not immediately obvious where to go.
Finally, we turned right and followed the wall to the arch/gate, and wandered up the street until we saw the cistern. Then we saw the hotel.
It would be good for the people arriving by bus if you would give directions for arrival at the south side of town.

We had a quad-person room, with a partial view.
The beds were comfortable.
The bathroom was large. My wife and daughters were impressed by the bathtub.
The breakfast area was terrific.
We were so impressed by the hotel and the town of San Gimignano that we wanted to stay there at least another night, but we stayed with our schedule and went on to Rome.
We loved this hotel. Our family gave it five stars out of five stars.
We highly recommend Hotel Leon Bianco.
We suggest staying at least two nights to soak up the sights, tour the town, and relax in scenic beauty.

This is a fantastic hotel! Our room was lovely and we had gorgeous views over the countryside from our window which was acompletely unexpected bonus. Being in the centre of the town is perfect too, and first thing in the morning we had the town virtually to ourselves. We're considering going back there for part of our honeymoon actually so we highly recommend it!

The room was palatial - entrance lobby, large bedroom, sitting area with sofa, very spacious bathroom. Everything was spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the main square of San Gimignano so ideally placed. Excellent for getting out to see the sights before the day trippers arrived and for the floodlighting at night.

I would tell them that the location couldn't be better. I would probably tell them to get a room overlooking the town square because my room kind of overlooked the elevator. I would tell them the rooms are pretty big, especially by European standards.

The location of the Leon Bianco is absolutely superb. The rooms are stunning and the staff cannot do enough for you.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this fabulous hotel to anyone, it really is that good.

this hotel was just great. we had wonderful rooms, breakfast and attention. we even enjoyed the work out space. the staff was extremely helpful and kind. they even got the doctor to visit a member of our party who had become ill. can't wait to return.
