Manciano: Manciano is one of the main centers in Grosseto province and in Tuscan Maremma. The village map has a vaguely triangular shape, east bounded by Fiora river and west by Albegna river. On Fiora banks the big cities of Vulci, Stetonia and Sovana rose during Etrurian period. The landscape is various and multiform and preserves something of his ancient wild look. Around the wooded belts, ruins of ancient Middle-Ages castles are still visible. The landscape is characterized by ruins of prehistoric and protohistoric settlings, partially preserved in Manciano museum. Anyway Manciano municipal district is the richest in testimonies, in particular Middle Ages ones. In the old town center, besides the ruins of the boundary walls, the Cassero Senese soars and from its terrace it is possible to see a panoramic view over the entire Maremma.
Thermal Baths of Saturnia: the thermal baths of Saturnia are famous all over the world for waters virtues, for mud bath treatments and for high quality make-up products. From ancient times, Saturnia history is linked up with her water which gushes out at 37,5° from a natural crater, in fact in these places“cult of waters” rituals were celebrated. |
